a rant about vandals

What a sickener,Topsy:mad: I just cant get my head around what these Vermin get out of such mindless vandalism with no sympathy for the innocent victims or the hassle it causes:confused::mad:.

But dont let this beat you,you will recover from this and soon be back on the road again.

Good luck,Topsy

got a lovely new windscreen a couple of hours ago, yay! The police don't even come out, they're doing a telphone investigation, which is almost laughable except it's actually real! still, it's not the fault of the police that they get so much red tape tying up officers they have to time to actually catch scumbags, and the justice system has always seemed incorectly named and quite inconsistent anyway! I've had 3 phone calls offering me victim support though, phew...!
Next door neighbours have a camera, but there's a bit of a parking issue in my street so I had to park a couple of houses down, just 3 feet out of range, and as the damage was to the offside of the camera there's no sign of anyone, not even a shadow, grrrr. It's a live and learn day I suppose...

Still, it's nice to have a sparkley new windscreen, every silver lining has a cloud:confused:

Sorry to hear and see this Topsy; such a nice van  I hope these *******s fry in hell.
I can understand your feelings and anger; but make it nicer than it was and enjoy the more :)

sympathy

all our hearts go out to you. it's good to see so much support. shame we can't really help. i think that as owners of 'different' vehicles, we all at some time, do or are going to suffer from this sort of abuse. hope it doesn't spoil your xmas.

Sorry to see what some scum has done to your vw we get a bit of it done to our vw but touch wood nowt that bad police are not intrested i fitted a cam to watch ours and have evidence still on dvd of about 20 little pi$$ed up b@stards trying to turn mine over and they could not be arsed looking at the dvd but they did turn up quick because they heard me shouting in the background saying i was going out with a baseball bat when the missus was onto them.On another note my brother had a fella with mental issues kicking his door in the other night with a knife phone police after 10mins phone again got an indian call center who kept askin what service do you require finally got connected to police they say your phone numbers not logged on our system whats your address tells them the address they say this is strathclyde police only 200miles from us?? so eventually the police turn up 20mins later i dread to think what could have happened so maybe police call centers are now out sourced to india .Any way good luck with catching the scum and giving them a good kickin.

Mike

Scum

I am gutted for you, but never let the scum get you down, having worked for years locking these vermin up I know what sort of pond life they are, hopefully they will meet there maker down below very soon.

It's when one reads posts like this that one wonders how long before "vigilantlyism" will take place?
If the Police cannot protect us then people will take the Law into their own hands; at this rate, it can't be much longer.

I think the police do do the best they can, i've been pulled over twice and found them lovely, one time I'd just passed my test and accidently ran a red light (it went green but that was for going staright on, not turnng right as I was, d'oh) and they let me off with it, the other time was for having a very very very loud exhuast (blew a foot long hole in it going up Hartside :)) but as I was going to the mechanics anyway they let me go on. All other dealings have had with the police have been good too, nothing but respect for them....
.... I think perhaps we need a few more police, a lot less red tape, and a few less laws.
On a happier note, the amount of support I've had has been amazing, complete strangers have left notes on the van expressing sympathy and anger and offers of help with the work that's still to do, friends and family have sorted out a giving me a lift to work rota, the neighbours have cleared up the broken glass for me, and two bottles of wine were left on my doorstep :D so my faith in people had been more than restored, and the van will be out and about by the weekend.
Thanks guys for all then comments:)

Topsy
your last post gives us all hope ,most people are great and will help out if they can. One bad egg can spoil the omelette.
I must admit I have found the Police overall to be helpful and if you do not rant and rave at them they will usually be reasonable.
Still sad to see your photos ,but keep looking at the bright side, you can at least go out in it again.

Great news,Topsy,:), reading your last post gave me a lift, I,m so pleased that things are looking up for you:)

you aint met the south yorkshire police :eek: my neighbour last year had someone attack them in there own home, so he told the storm troopers that attended if they did not do anything that if the attackers came back he would kill them. he was promptly arrested cuffed and charged with threats to kill ended up in sheffield crown court facing doing time verry understanding our boys in blue :eek: even though the attacker was known to the police no action was taken on him .

I've had my motorhomwe broken into three times.Despite the first one being caught nothing ever hapened to him.
The last time the bloke was still inside, asleep when I went in the back.Suffice it to say, when he was woken up he then had a nightmare.
I know,I was in it.

I am seething for you. Bring back the birch I say - then the little bas****s would think twice.

How much is it going to cost you out of your own limited pocket?

You sound like a lovely person too and just the sort of Dad that the modern world needs. Showing the kids how to enjoy life not just sit in front of the telly. And teaching them some values, not over indulging them.

:mad:So frustrating. So stupid. So disturbing.Just the sort of thing to encourage vigilantes.Glad to see you can see a silver lining, dought if I could.Lovely van by the way,Should make even low life smile through there drug induced fug, sadly it did not.

flower3bird, erm I'm mum! but you're right about the other stuff, so far just £50 out of my pocket to cover excess on the windscreen, everything else turned out to be bodgeable!

def going to sell it next summer though, I'll have had a couple of years of fun with it by then, then going to buy a cheap car for the summer and look for a camper next winter, though prob not vw and maybe no flowers, i'll decorate the inside only!

sorry to hear of other people troubles with the police... some of the tales are very disturbing, however at least nice folk seem to be in the majority, it's just a shame that the nasty ones are around too.

the good news is that Topsy is back to being driveable, just a couple of more hoovers out needed, think i'll be finding glass for weeks (just hope the dog and the kids don't!)

Ops - sorry Topsey! Not sure why I made you a male

Do take a look at your Private Message folder

Ive met the SY police, just live across the valley from you in Worsborough, and we have Wombwell police!
We also have 2 camaras that filmed 2 prats in broad daylight drive up to the house break into the garage and start pinching some wheels that my son uses when hes raceing his Suppra.
They stopped when my wife heard them and went out with the dogs, they still got away with 2 wheels worth about £1000
Gave plod the tapes with car number, very good face pics,
They brought the tapes back 2 months later saying that they could find nothing.
My son having non of this, asked a local low life, found the guys and let them know how cross he was:)
2 days later plod was back, but by now we had learned to say nothing.
And if we have any future trouble, the police are only good for the crime number. Unless its a high profile crime, then they will pull out all the stops, with the press in tow!!!

yea best thing say nothing because our lot go for the easiest nick they scared of trouble from the local yobos .
