a rant about vandals

sunday night and my van was vandalised, as the van is my first vehicle, and it;s the first time something like this has happened, i'm quite angry to say the least! The damage caused isn't too bad, it's just the attitude of whoever did this that has really got to me. I've spent a few hundred hours on this wee machne, doing as much as I can on a very limited minimun wage budget -I taught myself upholstery and and built all the cupboards, poured for ages over technical manuals trying to understand how the engine works, or more likely why it isn't working! It's not just a van to me, I don't supppose I'm the only one who has an big emotional attachment to a van though. She's a lovely vehicle and is mainly used to get me, my kids, and loads of their mates out of town and into the countryside for day trips and weekends, I can often be found wandering the hills and dales with a dog and a few kids in tow, and it's such a fun van for them to have memories of as they get older... And now some ignorant twat has casully smashed the windscreen let down tyres and have a go at the mirros and wipers. It puts a dampner on things to say the least. I know the van is a bit of a cliche with it's flowers, and I can put up with being called a hippy freak (I'm not a hippy though), but the van is just meant to be a laugh, I didn't think it would annoy someone enough to smash it up! The insurance covers the windscreen, but the little bits and bobs and the excess will have to come from the money i'd saved for the kids christmas pressies, and they weren't getting a lot to start with. I think i'll be seething for a longtime over this one.
Rant over, but here's the pics

So sorry that you have been targeted in this way.
Until our authorities give out more stringent punishments, I'm afraid these acts of vandalism will continue to be looked on as mischief.
If those responsible are caught then the first thing that they should do is pay for all damage to be fixed and then ordered to pay compensation for the hurt caused.
Hope you have no more trouble and that it was a "one-off".

Very sorry to hear about your van ,it looks very nice.Hope you can get it sorted with out to much trouble, try not to let it get you down.I no they have started to pinch the vw signs again, my son lost his 2 weeks ago and a few more near by went. All the best.

Sorry to see the damage to your pride and joy. Dont let the little *******s get you down.

There really is some fecking arsoles in this country.

I totally agree with Rover. If and when caught and proven to be guilty. They should be made to pay in full the damage, also compensation. The the Courts should have the power to authorise the Police or Ballifs into his home and remove his mobile, TV, and anything he treasures to the value of the damage they caused. Some might say it is 2 punishments, wrong. The first he pays for the damage caused, which is in itself not a punishment. The punishment is to remove what they themselves dearly hold. Fines, the government gets to keep the money. Prison, it will cost the tax payer. I wonder if anyone would disagree with this line of thought

It seems they do it because they can knowing that getting caught is slim and if they are punishment is little.

Sorry to see the the damage, possibly JEALOUSLY damage.:mad::mad:

Sorry to read this Topsy, lovely looking van,
I say birch the Barstewards, or let the victim do it, in the local market place. I'd go along and cheer for one :)

vandals

Sorry to see that but its everywhere these days
Ive stumpted out £800.00 last month
on vehicles and property told the old bill if they dont
sort them out we will deal with it, least we will get satisfaction
even it means breaking the law you get so frustrated with
reporting crime at say 8:00 then get chapped up at 2:00
in the morning by other shift officers ask to deal with it, you get ratty with them they then caution you:mad:

Just a hint but i wouldn't want anyone to phone the Police on this advice

If you see the little ****s at it, tell the Police that you think one of them has a gun...
You'll get the lot, locals, PCSOs, Armed response, helicopters and if you're really lucky, a dead chav at the end of it - Result!

I am truly sorry to see the state of your poor VW

So sad to see what mindless jealous people have done to a GREAT looking VW

Try and keep your spirits up

And next time you can manage to go out for a day or weekend keep smiling and keep the memories of the times you have had and are going to have and don't let them grind you down

so sorry to hear and see the damage done by mindless vandals. they know there is little chance of them being caught and if they do they will not suffer in the courts hands, the police know this so they do not bust a gut to catch the evil little b-s-a-ds we need to have a vigilante force on the streets to meter out public punishment that would stop them .this may be no consolation to your obvious sorrow i know how i would feel if it was my van

On a similar note I had a couple of urchins out of their faces on something smashed our lounge window with a brick a few years ago. No reason, they were just passing and it seemed a good idea apparently.
I chased the tossers down the street in my socks and managed to find them hiding in a garden round the corner, I dragged them back to the house and phoned the bill.
I told them what had happened and that if they werent there in 5 mins I didnt think I could be held responsible for my actions.

2 mins later blue lights everywhere They can do it when they really want to. :(

A rant about vandals

Know how you feel topsy75 been on the recieving end of similar events in the past, seems like it's everywhere these days.Mate at work was telling me last night he had been to cc club at Southport for half term last week, caravan and motorhome had been targeted by stone throwing yobs smashing the window in the motorhome and pierced the side of the caravanbody.Think you would be safe on a club site, hope the police catch whoever is responsible for vandalising your VW.Andy.

sorry to hear bout your damage,,,just little mindless,sh.theads,,keep her lit:

Whenever i see one of these old Vee Dub buses, they always make me smile. They are very affectionately thought of by a lot of people.
How some maggot can just mindlessly vandalise it is beyond my comprehension.

You have our sympathies. We hope the vandals get caught but we think the chances are remote of justice being done.

We have suffered several mindless attacks and the police truly do seem not to take much notice.

After 18 years of owning three motor caravans it is a little thought provoking that none of our vans has ever been damaged except in this country. In all but one cases, outside our house.

Maureen and Tom - both of us

Thats is sick, they are scumbags:mad: hope they get whats coming to them
You could rig up a camera and point it at your van 24/7.

If you lived in a Posh area and it was a top range B.M or a Merc, the big P,s might get around to seeing you........ just to get a crime or incident number for your insurance Co.
We had some vandalism at work the other week and I had to make an appointment for the big P,s to attend. They were not interested, said it was just criminal damage, gave a V.I.P number in case any neighbour could see them at it again and left........... They were both in their 20,s and he looked like a thug and she looked like a Lap dancer, with sculptured nails and make up to kill. as they left I thought .........If you want a career to pose to the world in .... Join the big P's.

I would be mortified to find that happen to my van and you have my heartfelt sympathy........ Last year, after complaining about some ferrel nieghbours kids destroying our back wall ( it is a listed 19th century barracks) the P's warned them off and 2 nights later my Scooter was stolen and found next day 2 streets away trashed........... They didn't even pay the little scrotes a visit ....... but hey....... I had a crime number for the insurance....... job done....... oh and a leaflet on victim support.

Mindless T**ts, all the hard work that has gone in to keeping that beautiful old van on the road and they have to do that.

Hope their balls turn square and fester at the corners, and then drop off.

Police don't want to know nowadays "after all thats what you pay insurance for heres the crime number to give your insurance company"

Hope you get it fixed soon, Regards Tony
