A heads-up: I’ve been working on something for a while…
Over the past year, I’ve been putting together a book that’s come directly out of this community, and I wanted to let you know about it before it appears anywhere else.
The book is called Motorhomer Wisdom, and it will be available shortly on Amazon (hardback, paperback and Kindle). I’ll post the link here as soon as it’s live.
What makes it a bit different is how it’s been produced.
I anonymised and extracted approximately 1.2 million posts from the forum related to motorhome ownership, use, problems, and day-to-day questions, spanning 23 years and contributions from well over 100,000 members. That data was then analysed using an AI tool solely to identify patterns and determine the community consensus on the recurring questions.
The AI didn’t write the book.
What it did was sort an overwhelming amount of opinions, arguments, experiences, and repetition into something usable. I then reviewed all of that output myself and, drawing on my 30+ years of motorhoming experience, pulled it together into a structured reference book—organised so people can find the answers they’re looking for.
It’s not meant to be a storybook (although you can read it that way if you want). It’s a reference book. Something you dip into. Something you keep. There’s also a Frequently Asked Questions section at the back that covers questions asked hundreds of times over the years.
I’m fully aware that many long-term members here will already know most of what’s in it — but that’s kind of the point. It reflects the advice most of us would give to a new motorhomer, and there’s still plenty in there that even seasoned owners will recognise, re-learn, or nod along with.
I’ve deliberately kept each topic to a single chapter, so it doesn’t turn into a technical manual — it’s about the important things, not every possible thing.
I’ve put a lot of work into this, and more importantly, it felt right to preserve the knowledge this community has built over 23 years. We’ve lost members along the way, but their experience and wisdom still live on in the conversations they left behind — and in that sense, this book feels a bit like a memorial to the forum itself.
If people do end up buying it and feel it’s valuable, I’d really appreciate an Amazon rating or review — that genuinely makes a big difference in whether other motorhomers ever see it.
