Hi moho'ers. I'm on EHU & on lockdown outside my brothers house. My Thetford n3150 fridge, which has been working fine, has just failed. I turned it over to gas for a couple of hours but still not freezing up even though burner working perfectly. Only thing I can think of is the refrigerant gas has leaked/failed. There are no error messages coming up on the display.
Anybody got any other ideas?
Thanks.

Yup. I'm on the level from both viewpoints. Middle of lockdown & fridge does a "terminate operation' on me. And to add insult to injury its happened on the same day I have finally fitted the new front grille, all sprayed up & smart, that I initially damaged in Feb in Portugal when a sneaky short stubby wooden post did for my radiator. Never mind Covid19 this is turning out to be an expensive & disruptive Moho'ing year for me.
Anybody want a new bag of unfrozen peas..... They're going cheap... 😂🤣😂😱

Dry the peas and get a pea shooter?

Or you could mash em, eat em, and never want another pea for as long as you live.

a couple of hours isn't necessarily long enough for gas to work . doe nothing happen on 12 and 240v ?

Three questions/observations.

If any refrigerant has leaked it will likely be visible and smell.

Is it working on hook up?

When on gas the burner should be clearly audible in quiet conditions. If not then the jet is probably blocked partially.

No, is not working on hook up.
No, is not working on gas. New gas jet recently fitted & burner healthy roar easily heard.
Cannot see or smell any refrigerant thru lower fridge vent. Will examine through upper vent tomorrow.
Thanks admin. Good questions. 👍

If it is an AES fridge check the 12 volt control side. A wiring diagram will probably be needed. There could be a dedicated fuse, I am only guessing as I am more used to Dometic fridges.

ignore the gas for a mo -find the electric elements at the back , and feel if they're getting hot. it's all about elimination

I'm a Fultimer & have been for 9yrs & Dometic/Thetford fridge probs have been the bain of my life. But; it has mainly been the gas operation & I've become competent at sorting most gas problems. Usually it is a case of 'a sigh of relief' when I hook up to EHU as that heralds a 'free of fridge problems' period of time. To suddenly be confronted with 'a mains leccy fridge problem' in my supposedly 'fridge problem free time', & in the middle of Covid19 lockdown.... well... that is Mr Universe being wickedly mischievous..... 😱😂🤣😂
On saying that; thank you all for your input. A great thread, one we'd all been missing I suspect. I'm due to empty my cassette today sooooo.... watch this space..... with Mr Universe at present enjoying a laugh on my behalf who knows what's going to happen.... 🤔🙄.
& finally. Thermistor. Thanks. I'd forgotten that. I'll see if I can order a new one today & see if that solves my problem.
Stay safe all.

I don't know why a thermistor would be in use.

Thermocouple, yes.

But that will not solve the problem. Its purpose is to hold open the gas valve as I'm sure you know.

Given that the fridge doesn't cool on hook up or gas it does seem likely that the refrigerant has leaked ...

Our fridge didn't get cold .
Engineer change many parts new control unit .new burner .new temp knob .
Nothing worked .

Change the thermistor bingo .That's all I can say.

Hi Guys. An update. Despite no 'error13' message appearing a new Thermistor has solved the problem. Fridge now up n running like a good un. Just shows; seek advice & always try the basics (&cheapest) options first.
Thank you for all of your help/input & advice.
Stay safe & happy static moho'ing.
