Hi , Just trying to sort a few niggles on this old 564,
The tap in the bathroom sink blows off when turned on ,looks like just an o ring and push on fit ,can not see anything else holding it on.?

Secondly ,just noticed there is no kind of seal on the bonnet surely these a class had some kind of seal.
Getting there but desperate to get off to france for a few months..thanks ,jon.

We had a problem with our shower blowing off (Hymer 694) and just held it together with cable ties as a quick fix. As for the bonnet ours doesn't have a seal either and looks like it never has.

The tap thing sounds like we had on our Hobby.

Just dried the end of the errant spout and the tap body then stuck it back in with clear silicone on it. Hasn't moved since.

Cheers

H

My wife is like that,

when she is under pressure,

she blows off

I had the same problem on my caravan (are you allowed to say caravan here?) anyway the tap had become damaged due to the residual water in the tap freezing and expanding in the winter; I had to replace the tap to cure the problem. Future winter layups I used to leave the taps on/ open and then drain the system down to allow air in.

There is a seal on the top of the scuttle on mine where the bonnet hooks on, there are no other seals down the sides

if your on face book there's a classic hymer site on there part of the hymerowners group some seriously good tech info on there

The tap on my MH was similar to yours I changed it for a mixer tap from toolstation, it was one for a small wash basin.
This can only be done if your van has a pressurized system.

Bonnet seal?

Our Hymer didn't have a rubber or seal, we thought(hoped) adding one would cut down some of engine noise. I sent for some black edge trim and just fitted myself. Certainly tightens up the bonnet fit but not expensive. Looks like it should have had a weatherization when new.

We used to have a J reg 564. that had no seal, everything was always wet in the engine bay. To cut down engine noise we took out the wooden front window shelf and stuck thicker insulation under it but then it sounded like the noise was also coming through the bulk head.
