I'm on my 3rd Garmin Nuvi and I love them.
I did have a Nozatec when I had a bigger motorhome and it was great - I don't know what it had in it's insides, not being a techie sort of person, but I set it to my van's dimensions and it stopped me from trying to go down narrow lanes, under low bridges etc.
Sadly it didn't survive my dog getting stressed out one night and taking a chunk out of it. I tried to make do with my (Garmin) GPS but the screen was a bit small whilst on the move and it won't do whole postcodes, so I had to buy a new sat nav in Argos and went for another Garmin.
My phone screen is even smaller than the GPS so I wouldn't even think of using that.
Real maps are good too.
