A Christmas message from us Brummies

@zzr1400tim

It is Hill's Butchers and it's stall number 131, his name is Chris Hill and his phone number is 01952 251414 (y) He's a great bloke and his stuff is top notch :)

Regards,
Del

Just had belly pork slices, mash, mushy peas and gravy for dinner Tim, that's also better than turkey.

Can't get real faggots round here but I'll bear that butchers in mind for the future.
pork belly slices (or belly draft as us brummies call it) is bloody lovely too Rob :)

although i live near oakham melton is only 7 miles up the road they have a cattle market on a tuesday sheep cattle & fur & feather where you can buy anything from a canary to a goose yesterdays market would have been (pre covid) where they would sell cockerels turkeys & geese , surrounding the market is a farmers market half a dozen butchers etc + tool & proper hardware also dozens of car boot style stalls , the farmers/ butchers have some amazing products pies of all sizes cheese & cakes one favourite stall does faggots i love them they are solid lumps of meat & herbs jan & i struggle to eat two of them ,
if anyone is ever 🤞🤞in the future camped at iyndon top it’s only about ten miles to melton and the town also has a street market on the same day so go early , we are still tier 2 here so most things still open though restricted

Within striking distance for me Ken - thanks.

Fair play to my yammer biker mate Del @alwaysared for tipping me off this morning directly from the butchers informing me that they had sold out of black country faggots.
I was literally within ten minutes of jumping into my car from Brum to do a 66 mile round trip to get them.
It would have been a wasted trip. Thanks Del(y)
Funny how my tread that started with a Christmas message from Brum ended up talking about Black Country faggots :ROFLMAO:
Good though eh?
A nice bit of relief from all the doom and gloom lately :)
Again.. wishing all of you a happy Christmas from Brummie Land

Not too far from me either, we go through Melton Mowbray to get to Lyndon Top so usually go to a traditional butchers there to get a selection of their sausages and of course to pick up a pork pie or two, we find it easier to park outside the Arla Factory on the A606 (near Morrisons) because of the car on the back

the only downside to this market is the parking as i say a proper cattle market so tractors & trailers big lorries etc + loads of cars make parking a premium big rigs walk in
