240 volt socket surge protectors 2 way ?

One for the Oracles of knowledge!
I have fitted a 240 volt twin socket in the living accommodation to make running my hard wired 240 to 12 volt charger easier and something else when I have the generator running or for the very odd occasion I can get to a plug in . Recently I had generator problems part of my solution was to see if I could change the 2 way 240 volt switches in a 2 way with built in surge protector But I can't find any! My tame house electrician says they were available but he can't find one either has anyone got any ideas ?

I don't understand the question. Do you mean a 2 gang 240V socket with 'built in anti-surge' ?. If so, never seen one.

If it is only 1 double socket then fit an inline surge protector before the socket.

They cost between £5 and £10 but some are only rated at 10 amps max. It should do for most things though.

You can get anti-surge plugs, trailing sockets and adaptors but I don't recall ever seeing an anti-surge double socket.
