Can anyone advise a fix for my problem. The speedo and odometer just ceased to work on recent journey. I believe thatthe speedo is electronic and not driven by mechanical cable drive.

Cheers Alan

Hi, Try disconnecting/reconnecting the plugs at the back of the speedo, it worked for me.

Time has gone on since your question so you might have fixed it by now. But this happened to me just recently. Went to dealer in luxemburg while en route. The speedo is powered through the same fuse as the heater for the crancase vent valve (PCV). This sometimes goes short circuit and blows the fuse. You need to look at F11 (10 or 15Amp) situated in the fusebox in the engine compartment. If it is blown and blows again on replacing, then it might be your heater. You can disconnect this temporarily as it is only needed in freezing conditions. It's in the rubber hose that is connected between the back of the crankcase and the air inlet just downstream of the air filter. Cost to replace about £67 including its hose.
