1st Day of Retirement (Freedom) Today

Well, after 44 years and three weeks, yesterday was my final day at work:banana:
And in 2 days time SWMBO also finishes as well:banana:

Then on Friday, we are heading off in the MH, carn’t wait! No more having to get back for a certain time, No more having to plan everything around work:camper::mad1:

oh this [post has cheered me up.....i can just feel the relief and excitement it gives off......well done you two.......good luck and trust that everything goes wll for you both...CONGRATULATIONS.....ENJOY

Enjoy,

and watch out for others(usually your children) trying to fill your time for you, "now you've nothing to do".

Excellent, well done! I'm just starting my fourth week of retirement. Due to a variety of reasons its been busy so far BUT I am really enjoying the evenings knowing I don't have to get up for (paid) work in the morning. I used to wake up without needing an alarm at 5:30 on work days but not once have I woken up at that time since retirement thinking I need to go to work

Chris is not, however, finding it so relaxing having me around!

I retired about 4 years ago (time flies and the memory goes....).

Finished on Thursday - retirement/birthday party on Saturday - in France on Monday for next 6weeks.
Our children say we just pop home now and again rather than go on holiday...

Fantastic and hope you love it
Only 156 days and we'll be there too :cool1:

One of the many things I love about it is not having to get up in the morning when it is still dark in the winter. I hated that so much!
Enjoy.

yep enjouy the two day peace before her indoors says what we going to do today then first thing is drown the alarm clock and go to bed later and have siesta in afternoons after a few beers

Congratulations!

Hello, Hearty congratulations on your retirement. Isn't it the best feeling ever?
Enjoy every minute, 44 years and 3 weeks is a long time, you have earned it.

Good luck and Best wishes - Freespirit :have fun:

We retired 3 years ago when hubby was 65. I’m 10 years younger but we were self employed and worked together so I retired too. Our son took over the business. Don’t know how we had time to work now, but still don’t get away as often as we would likebecause of husbands hobbies 😟.

Yes I got up at 04.45am for 40 years, too tired to watch the 10 o'clock news in the evening, winter mornings,

Not any more, I get up when I feel like it.

:sleep-040:

I'm happy for you. Enjoy yourselves.
I aim to finish, no I intend to finish on 15 March next year. Okay, 6.75 years later than I expected, but sometimes life bites your bum. A major supermarket pulled the plug on my business after major (for me ) investment in vehicles. That left me holding the sticky end of an expensive smelly stick. I had spent the tax money, no worries, I'd make that back before it was due, wrong. The Bank wanted the house. Then relented and were gracious enough to let me re-mortgage.
Finally, I'm out of debt, and got a bit of savings, lovely wife, 2 great kids and 1.5 grandchildren (Setemberish). Oh! And Demi. Who is going to take me to Spain Portugal and France next March.
As I said, enjoy your time, I'm not so far behind you

First weekend, and doing what i love. View from Campervan window at Anglesey Circuit. And note the sunshine, bit windy mind:D

Ar you participating there or watching?

I hope to get there this year, one of the few tracks I've not done.

Spectating, would love to race, but not brave enough:drive:
We have followed the TVR challenge around for a number of years, and they have two races today.
Anglesey circuit is one of our favourites. Stunning views, very interesting track and very spectator friendly.
