Just inquiring whether any supplier of 12 volt tv's other than this link TV & Video[,24]&feature=9-12-volt-power.
These have all been sold out weeks ago it seems. They offered a good price. Is there anything remotely comparable out there?

many cheap tv sold at asda etc are 12 volt they have a 240 v down to 12 v transformer on the plug or the lead check the voltage on the back. of tv .you can get a 12 volt lead on ebay .Have any other members got any views on this baz

We run our Asda 15 inch tv from the 12v socket. It oddly is rated at 13v input but is quite happy.

I contacted Kogan, before buying a 22inch combo, regarding operating voltage. They said the max voltage is 13.5 so you would need a 12v stabilizer if you use hook up or have the engine running whilst the TV is on. Other makes may be different but it is worth checking.

We have a techwood from morrisons, 16" tv/dvd combo £79 , brilliant picture etc.

I bought one of those 16" TV/DVD combo's from Kogan last year for my van. It works fine on 240v mains, and on 12v DC from my leisure batteries with the adaptor. I carried it around for thousands of miles, but never actually switched it on in the van, as there was always something more interesting to do!

I was so impressed with the quality and price that I bought another, larger one, for use in a bedroom at home.

Kogan is an Australian company, and their main website still shows them in stock, so it may be worth an email to enquire? I wouldn't think they'd be out of stock for long in the UK, especially with Xmas around the corner, but who knows?

TV & Video - DVD Player Built-in

We have a 19" Kogan TV in the van, also there was a 16" Avtex tv with DVD already in the van which we now have in the rear bedroom. Find the picture quality better on the Kogan but sound isn't quite as good.

Bought a small alba with a built in DVD player used it once then decided we would sooner read and listen to music. Just sit's in the spare room now along with the 240 volt hook up lead and the drive away awning:cool:

We have the Kogan 24" model in our kitchen at home good picture and the usual crap sound from TVs, we overcome this by getting a scart adapter to pick up audio for a amplifier as there is no head phone socket, for this reason we had a 24" Cello for the van that has a headphone socket handy if someone wants to read instead, the picture quality is the same on both sets.

Hi,
We bought a 16" Cello but the 240volt model then bought a cheap multi voltage supply with 12 volts on, it works great and was £70 cheaper the the 12 volt version.
However we hardly ever use it as we prefer to read or out walking. At 2.7 kilo for the TV + supply we carry it in case we want to watch or view a DVD.

The speakers on Kogan TVs are not very good, i use some cheap USB ones plugged into the headphone jack and USB on the back of the TV.

I also tend to buy all the bits and bobs accesories and never use them! I was wondering about the merits of a tv,but dont think we will be in the van long enough to use it!

Got 1,500 quids worth of Megasat dome thingy on the roof and a Roadstar TV/DVd player (speakers are rubbish) (all came with the vehicle when I bought it) and have turned it on twice in two and a half years. I would save your money.:cool1:
