They have this in the USA and poss Canada, why not here, a small rate collection could be charged along with a pitch fee.

Folk are complaining about this already Gordon! Apparently one councillor has calculated that it will take 30 years (or something like that) to recoup the cost of running the scheme. What costs I ask myself. And that bloke who runs the Dornoch campsite doesn’t want them to be anywhere near his site!

The scheme will allow self-catering campervans and motorhomes to park overnight at the site for a voluntary fee of £7.

Makes more sense but campsite owners will expload.

I feel it is a good idea. Biggest problem I see is people not paying the £7. As we all know, there are some people who don't pay any voluntary fee, but moan about lack of these types of facilities. (I hasten to add that I am not accusing anyone on here).
It is important we all support these schemes, which hopefully will.mean more will open.
