What are the ten most important things you carry in the van for wildcamping.

i will start with .... a good torch

Enough gas, especially in this cold weather. Cheap levelers. Hose. Inverter. Loads of grub & drink.

Sense of humour- sometimes

Ear plugs?

The most important thing to have in the van is a list. :D

I intend to put one up somewhere prominent because there are things I regularly forget. Like my Binoculars, the Sky viewing card and the waterproofs.

GPS, headtorch, G&T in cans (Greenalls), Kindle, dog biscuits, insulated mug, ramps, toothbrush (cost me a 2 mile walk when I forgot those), charging leads, pre-made frozen dinners and paper plates.

For wilding: a full water tank, an empty loo casette and an empty laundry basket - everything else is already in the van since we spend most of our time in it.

well here in Oz,,water,first aid kit,Epirb (Locator),good maps,,spare wheels,snatch strap,shovel,,good swag or tent,spare fuel,,

Ipod Touch - gives me music, access to emails, a spirit level for levelling the van, films to watch, maps, skype to call friends in an emergency, virtual books to read and so much more

top 10 things to take

Sat Nav.
Laptop & dongle.
Road atlas
bikes
cosmetics
food
Drink
good book
external hard drive full of films and music
sweeping brush!

Like Maingate says " A List". I have this under Microsoft Word on my PC. I print out 2, one for the wife and one for me. 3 weeks before we hit the road, we start working and loading the MH. That way we do not forget a single item. Each trip we add the odd item, at times we also delete an item. We have it now to perfection. If any of you folks want a copy, I can post it on here. Hope this helps.

I'd like to see it, out of interest. There's bound to be something on it that i've never thought of.

My list is fishing kit, food box, nappies for the little'un, selection of DVDs (including kids one for the little'un), electric heated travel blanket, box of spares for the van, jump leads, tin of sealant (for any leaks that might spring in the night), FAK, wet wipes. Everything else is stored in the van as a matter of course.

Struggling to upload the list onto Photobucket. I must be doing something wrong. Give me time on it.

Inventry

Hi David.

I am new to this, havent been out yet, but hoping to go down to the South of France for a few months.
Was fasinated by your list, the first thing I purchased was a 2kw Honda generator for a back up, just in case, for battery charging or later possibly for a microwave.I think I will carry kitchen foil to keep the grill clean. I am not sure whether to carry a bike or not, I suppose like all these things you learn as you go along.

Kind regards

Ron.

What about an inflatable kayak and a fishing rod, a CD of Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon and Atom Heart Mother.
Perhaps a bat in case someone tries to break in and rob you of your favourite possesions such as your chocolate, cans of beer The Sun tabloid etc.
