Ty for tip. Unfortunately we couldn't buy the Africa bolt on package for Co-Pilot for caravans, so using organic maps whilst here.
  2. Oops. Big bang. Bent suspension?

UPDATE The motorhome has been fixed. Yay! Bill was just under £10,500 including the transport. Our excess was £500. It has just been returned to the farm we use near Chichester for storing until we get back in time for Christmas. Perfect. Ageas also covered the cost of repairing the...
  3. Diesel and LPG prices

And morocco is £0.89. We've only filled up twice since arriving on 7th October as the car generally achieves 50+ mpg on normal driving. Got 68mpg on a long run. Spending the money saved on accommodation when wet and cold. Just woken up to 4C in the Middle Atlas. Brr
  4. Valladolid peeing in Plaza Mayor !

I'd read about rinsing dog pee site in Spain. A bottle of water is something else to carry when sight seeing. But if you've s male that pees on every lamp post, you'd need a gallon.
  5. Motorhome body repair

These guys possibly have the best reputation in Greece for servicing and repairs. English speaker there too. https://www.zampetas.gr/ 😆 just read post above!!!
  6. Morocco Bound?

I know the folk on the Marrakech campsite had to move their vans to higher ground, but we're in the North. Some really heavy rain but no flooding. So far. If you hear on the news about a couple and their dog floating away in monsoon conditions ...
  7. Morocco Bound?

Hoping not to test the insurance! So can't answer that one. But at the price, I hope it isn't just a revenue raiser! Weather mixed. And when it rains, it pours. Campsite are somewhat rough. I coped with Turkish toilets for 3 nights on one site! But we have spent just over double campsites on...
  8. Morocco Bound?

Find motoroamers on the web. They have ebooks on Morocco which includes how and where to get the tickets. And travelling with dogs. It's very useful. Our ferry for 2 adults, a dog and CAR was €250. Insurance was €200 for 3 months, purchased after customs in Tangier Med.
  9. Ferry shock

I looked at it for our Morocco trip. No brained on cost, Dover Calais. And few sailings in the December which could get cancelled.
  10. Yikes, stay at home.

Opposite in Crete. Too mild a winter so insufficient snow to fill the aquifers. Summer water shortages. And no rain May to October. Heat arrived early and plants suffered. Know where I’d rather be though! 🌞
  11. Morocco Bound?

We are here now. Just working our way along the NE coast. Here till mid Dec. When will you arrive?
  12. Oops. Big bang. Bent suspension?

Ferry tickets bought for crossing to Morocco tomorrow. Bombed down in the car, did 12 hrs, 12 hrs / 1000k, 10 hrs / 900k. 3 nights at Barbate with friends. Rained in the night ... wet tent 😕
  13. Greece at last!!

Metereo You can drive up to some. But even from below, worth going.
  14. Russian missile site

Went there last Autumn. Found it fascinating. Knew so little about the cold War. Standing and peering over the edge of the missile launch was chilling.
  15. Oops. Big bang. Bent suspension?

😆 Grew up under canvas! Had 7 tents at one point as inherited some when my Aged Ps handed in their tent pegs in their 70s. J less keen, but if cold we will go into accommodation!
  16. Oops. Big bang. Bent suspension?

Hi David Bought a Dometic compresser fridge a few years ago ... but it's in Crete!!! With the additional costs of buying a tent, airbeds beds etc (all of which we have in Crete!), I went cheap. So an electric coolbox, 30 litre, with vent on top. But only £30 Ebay! Also have a gas and...
  17. Oops. Big bang. Bent suspension?

So lovely to hear from you. More likely to go to Rochdale as closer and apparently Ageas don't have engineers in Scotland!!! Posting trip on PolarSteps app ... look for Katherine Clune. Take care you. X
  18. Oops. Big bang. Bent suspension?

Yes, absolutely delighted. Finally stopped that anxious tummy feeling. Will be back on Polar Steps with this trip. X
  19. Oops. Big bang. Bent suspension?

Our issue is we are ex Pats. Only 2 brokers deal with ex Pats. One will insure the motorhome, the other, the car ... bizarre. So we are stuck with them. However, as an exiting client, based on today's prices, they reckon about £1500, so just over a 50% increase. At least, it's affordable!
  20. Minoan Lines Igoumenitsa to Ancona

Never spotted any hook ups. Tends to be a tatty small boat on this route. Only Anek offer proper camping on board where you stay in your van, which has ehu. However, I heard that is stopping.
