We found Islay one of the best and friendliest places to WC, all the locals wave at you, even taxi drivers. Options for waste disposal as well. My favourite Scottish Island, and I live in Scotland! Don't believe the calmac woman, she is out of order... Loads of places to WC, all recommended.

I would go with Canalsman suggestion ... a semi blocked fuel filter (or some issue with fuel lines, like leaky joint). May also be worth putting some diesel cleaner through the system as a simple option.
