We are in Alcanar at the moment and the mosquitoes have teeth. We have tried Skin So Soft but does not seem to work for SWMBO or me so have ordered 50% DEET from Amazon.Es. I was a bit worried about it arriving but went through it with the guy on reception and it turned up.

The little blighters we have here are BITTING ALL DAY.

So if you are heading towards the Costas bring plenty of repellant with you.
 
Get down the local pharmacie and buy some Halley repelente de insectos.The OH has been a prime target again this year but this has been very good.Also Fenistil for afterbites ,google translate was handy in also getting some anti histamine tablets.😀
 
We have FLIES... south of Bordeaux.... French ones ! Voracious little bu99ers !

They zoom in on the scabs and scars of my manhole related disaster, ( which I'd almost forgotten about).
Luckily, we've a tub of Vicks in the van.
A circle if this round the wound, works a treat.
 
Take care with deet. Not only does it melt plastic, but absorbing too much can damage health.

We had some like that in Turkey when we charted a yacht. Sitting the cockpit and you would get a few buzzing around and when they landed boy did they hurt. They were also very quick and you never got anywhere near the *******s until we discovered that Mossi repellent gummed up their mouth parts and while they were trying to figure out what was happening you could squat them.

get yourself con citronella wipes from a chemist or some supermarkets do them i find them very good when i go fishing on the river been very bad this year with the buggers :lol-049:
 
To be honest, I hate DEET but it’s the only thing that actually works for me.
