Our first POI stopover.

So we had our first POI stop over last night (in Queensferry, Edinburgh).

All in all it wasn't bad, as expected the coordinates took us directly to the spot we wanted and it was available.

On arriving there was a fair amount of litter (mostly McDonald's) which I assume is from the young that come in their cars, being slightly concerned people would think it was us we picked it up which is a little annoying but no big deal.

The trains that pass on the rail bridge are loud and frequent, not really an issue to us as we live in a city centre so filter noise out but for light sleepers it might be a problem.

A teen tapped on the van as he passed on his bike but our van is a matt black panel van with a carbon wrapped bonnet and external speakers lol, it seems to attract a lot of interest. Anyway, there was no damage or anything so wasn't a big deal.

Lots of young guys in cars throughout the night but they were quiet and didn't bother us at all.

Hope the post doesn't come across as moaning it's not meant to be I just wanted to cover everything.

The location was good for what we needed and will certainly use it again. Great views!

First POI stopover

Don’t worry to much about the boy racers, they normally disappear when it’s time for their mothers to tuck them in bed😂. You will soon realise you have to share these places with many weird and wonderful people. Most of them will give you no bother. Unfortunately, it’s the fast food eaters, dog walkers (only the shameless ones) and fly tippers who get us Motorhomers a bad name.

Hairydog - I think on the weekend it might get pretty loud etc but yeah they were no bother last night.

The Laird - Cheers I'm back that way in 10 days so will deff give your suggestion a look. We are in Tarbet tonight then Kilmun, Bute, Arran and back to around the Forth for one night before heading back home.

JimandHazel - Oh don't worry we aren't new to this just new to the POIs nothing much surprises us these days. We've actually had a lot more bother off busy bodies and other campers than we ever have off "boy racers" etc.

You did better than us TG, first POI we used was a dogging site haha

I was up for staying anyway cos was tired but no way would Caz let me :)

My OH thinks everywhere is a dogging site, I think he's turning into a conspiracy theorist,:lol-049:

Lol I can see a campetvan/motorhome being very popular at such a site.

With boy racers a bit of reverse psychology works ,,,,compliment their cars ,clean shiny etc etc most will engage tell you it has a bose sound system and carbon graphic door cards etc,,,its their pride and joy. Often not guaranteed they become quite friendly but more to the point considerate towards you and often ask about our vans.

Most of the young uns ok in my experience.
