Peugeot Boxer Sump Pan Torque Setting ?

I`m changing the sump on my 2006 Peugeot Boxer 2.8 HDi and need the torque setting for the sump pan bolts.

Can anyone help ?

Yep if 10mm spaner size then just over light hand tight and a we tweek esp if alloy sump or you could crack the bu--er.

Thanks folks :wave: 10Nm ( Ral ) and 10ft.lb ( Trev ) doesn`t seem very much considering how tight the original factory bolts are :scared:

The sump is steel Trev so that should be ok.

I`ve emailed a mate who has Autodata but he hasn`t got back to me yet ............ he must be away :rolleyes2:

It all depends how brave you feel ?

The pressed steel sump can give and squash the gasket out of place, if those bolts snap off in the bottom of the block,

clean both faces up, add some gasket seal to both sides of the gasket and do the bolts up gently.

Very often oem bolts have loctite applied explaining the tightness when ever we fitted new sumps that had rusted always had new bolts and it was visible on them

New sump fitted, torqued to 18Nm and all is good :dance:

The condition of the bottom end, the oil pick up etc. etc. was as new and spotless with over 70,000 miles on the clock all done by me :dance:

Yearly oil and filter changes using good quality oil ( Castrol GTX ) has worked well :hammer:
