Hi All
With luck someone has done this before.
I have a motorhome custom built on a Iveco 10ton chassis and would like to down rate to 7.5 ton. Has anybody done this or similar before?
Thanks

No but if the process is the same as trucks you should get away with changing the wheels and tyres from 20" to 16" or 17.5" nowadays, a call to your local LGV (vosa) test centre will answer all your questions.

All you need to do is get a replacement VIN plate with the appropriate gross, axle & train weights shown. If the Revenue Weight is recorded in your V5C you'll need to get that changed too.

I assume that you want to down rate so that you don't need a Cat C driving licence (only C1 is needed for up to 7.5 tonnes).

How much does the motorhome weigh? Once down plated it will be illegal to use it on the road if it weighs over 7.5 tonnes.

Try: SvTech - Special Vehicle Technology or for a cheap option if you know all the relevant weights try Tagplates: 08450 616736
