Vodafone datatcard c/w T-mobile sim?

Anyone use the above for mobile internet access? I bought the card about 2 years ago as it was then the cheapest way of accessing the web (£2.50 unlimited for 5 days). Recently I have had lots of problems with connection speeds, even in areas of excellent utms cover. Does anyone know if T-mobile have blocked PC internet access by this method?

I don't know but I have a dongle and it can be a pain at times, dropping out, timed out, etc, and this is because of the recent increase in traffic on the network.

Been using the Vodafone data card ever since they hit the market. Use it on my desk top PC and with laptop when wilding. Also using an external directional antenna at home and on vehicle with laptop, which improves the signal and ups the speed. Current cost is just under £15/month for a 3 gig download, which I have never got anywhere close. All applications seem to run ok with the card, however pictures appear blocky at times.
There is talk that vodafone will be expanding the service and speeds, but they all say that....

I use a standard T-Mobile PAYG sim card in an unlocked USB modem and it works fine, don't get 3G speeds but OK for limited browsing and emails.

The £1/day or £2.50 for 5 days access is ideal for me at the moment.

According to the T-Mobile t&c it's supposed to be only for web browsing on mobile phones and not for internet access for a laptop, but as I said it works fine, in fact I was using it this morning at the motorhome show at Stratford on Avon.

The only downside for me is that FTP is blocked so I can't easily upload website updates.

Thanks for replies. Sounds like Andy has the same setup. Would you say you get better speed than 56k dial-up - my connection is definitely slower than that. It may be down to network demand though, as Paul suggests.

The speed does vary but I would say that it's usually faster than 56k
