Advise if possible regarding tyre age.
I have a 13 reg Swift built 2012 so I'm assuming the tyres will be at least 3 years old.
I assumed to determine age it would be a 4 digit number, week no followed by year. My Continental camper tyres have the following on the wall -

DOT HWNT --0011612.
----------------012115.

Any ideas or am I looking in the wrong place ?

Googled this if it's any help mate

Date of Manufacture
Your tyre is also printed with information about when and where the tyre was manufactured. This is represented by a series of letters and numbers which starts with the letters DOT (meaning the tyre exceeds Department of Transport safety standards).

The first 8 characters that follow DOT are essentially a serial number used by the manufacturer to identify the tyre and in which production facility it was made.

The last four digits, usually presented in a small window can help you to identify the age of the tyre.

The first two digits represent the week of the year the tyre was produced from 1 to 52. The last two digits represent the year. So a tyre marked 1315 was manufactured in the 13th week of 2015.

Tyres age over time, which can be accelerated if the vehicle is used infrequently. If the date of manufacture on your tyres is in excess of 6 years, we recommend having your tyres checked out to ensure they are still roadworthy.

When reading this I've realised I must have wrote the wrong date for mine lol, very short memory me ha ha

Cheers Jim, will have a god look when I get home.
Parked up at Tan Hill on the Pennines at present, blowing a bloody gale and to cold to get on hands and knees to look lol !

They should look similar to this, it is 5113 which equates to the 51st week of 2013.

It might be on the inside wall of the tyre if it`s been fitted that way round.

I always tell the tyre fitter to make sure that date code is on the outside then it is easy to find and read.

Bugger it for now ! Decided to look on inside of a tyre as definitely no 4 digit code on outside and now have sheep crap all over my trousers lol !

Will check when I get home.

Looks like your tyres were manufactured 16th week of 2012 and the van was registered 2013. That would mean of course that Swift built your motorhome between these times/dates, so at least you have bought a chassis that's hasn't been hanging around in a field for anything up to 3 years, as some have found to their cost. Unless someone changed the tyres!

Remember to look on the inside walls of the tyres, don't expect all numbers to be on the outside walls and enjoy a pint of OP in the Tan Hill.
Oh and don't get too confused by the clock behind the bar if ya had a few.
