I'm needing a late night stop over in Scarborough.

Is the sea life car park still an option or is it a no go?

Thanks

Scarborough, isn't that the place rumoured to have motorhome-proof razor wire fencing round it? Probably thinking of somewhere else.

Yes, you will be fine there, we use it regularly ...last time last weekend, no problems at all, there were around a dozen other vans. Have fun !!!

Simon.

Used it a couple of months ago -no charge for overnights.

Surprised that this isnt o the POI database!

It is not included because the relevant Off Street Parking Order prohibits the usual - sleeping, camping, cooking etc.

So you do potentially run the risk of a Penalty Charge Notice being issued.

I have stayed there many times and have never seen any sign about sleeping or cooking in that car park and the signs that were on the street leading down to the car park were removed in the spring of this year, was there last weekend and there was 27 vans in there ,

And because this was posted in Wildcamping/Motorhome chat, another 27 lurkers have discovered the place. :(

Best to put these sort of posts in Full Members chat.

At least if they all park here they won't be parked where I am.

All of the POI spots are on Facebook for free so it doesn't make much difference what we post as someone will get them anyway.

Well it was a busy night as that weekend there was a lot on there was racing at Oliver Mount there was a show of Gold wing motorbikes doing a light show with a ride through both bays colectomy for the life boats there was a late night walk that raised £29.000 , and I have to say it was left nice and clean and it was very quiet, most other times we have stayed there there is on a Saturday night about 10 or so and through the week down to three or four , and more often than not most are gone by 8.30 on a morning before they have to pay ,

It's worse than a campsite, if I turned up to a place with so many vans I would move on and find somewhere quieter

Me to, I move on if more than one motorhome at a wild site. I got the motorhome to find peace and tranquility in 'wild' places not parked up with dozens of other motorhomes.
