I'm always looking for ways to make life easier, and while preparing to move this morning I had one of those little brainwaves,I'm going to get a couple of magnets and pop them in the kettle,so I can just leave it on the hob and drive off!
Now someone tell me magnets are toxic when boiled?

The biggest concern with using neodymium magnets underwater is corrosion. In the presence of moisture, neodymium magnets can rust about as fast as a piece of raw iron. While the nickel plating does slow this down, the nickel eventually loses the battle.

It goes on to talk about plastic coated, but then not sure how that will get on with being heated.

I'll keep looking...

I think your brainwave is slightly distorted :lol-053: why would you put a possible dangerous projectiles behind you? In a accident they will move at the speed of impact in your direction,
I am not even going their as far as boiling water on the move! Because that would be plain bonkers!!!

I think even small crashes to sides or rear of a MH will have cupboard doors and contents flying all over the place. May as well get it done quickly with a kettle of boiling water, lol.

Magnets from computer hard drives are very strong don't know about boiling them though. Good for holding curtains and silvers screens to metal.

I wasn't going to boil it on the move!! That's bonkers even for me,simply to save storing it,currently I just sit it on the floor because its not easy to pack into a cupboard.

Isn't it dreadful when you can see that someone has not taken his medication and you can't tell the Police where he is.

OK Asterix, take deep breaths and relax. Don't listen to the voices, listen to me. Nobody is out to get you, just dial 999 for help.

Why boil water in a kettle when you have a radiator full? 10-15 minutes at regulo 30 (thats the big dial on your dashboard) or 5 minutes on the M25 should be enough.

tie it up with a bungee strap, then it can hit you many times.:idea:

IF, you were to hinge the kettle towards the rear with the spout pointing towards the rear and fix a permanent magnet to the kettle and an electro magnet underneath, while boiling the kettle, the magnets are north south so stick like mad, then, when your temperature gauge indicates 100C, the electromagnet reverses and the kettle is tipped towards a cup with coffee granules to fill.

If the cup is mounted on a simple model railway truck, the engine can drive it forward to the front seat so you can drink on the move!!

Something out of Wallace & Grommit I think!!

You can get magnetic tool trays

I just bought a collapsing kettle that will fit in the sink when under way.
