Hi all Does anyone know of a towbar / scooter rack fabricator Derbyshire area
I don't require a towbar. I have a scooter rack that slides into box section that needs fabricating and securing to my hymer camp :help:

Mick Parkinson in Freckleton Lancashire is brilliant and well worth the travel as a consideration. Usually way cheaper than other suppliers and top quality job, had both my vans fitted with a bar by him.

I know it's not Derbyshire but I had mine done about 6 weeks ago by him and I am south of Coventry! Basic towbar £325 made to measure on the spot, full electrics and all painted in less than 6 hours, and he loaned me a car for the day as well. Other quotes I had ranged from £700 to over £1,000. One lot locally wanted to charge me £200 just for the electrics!!
There's a couple of pubs nearby where you can stay overnight as well - I did.

I modified my sliding scooter rack to fit into two bits of 50mm box section bought for a few quid and bolted to existing holes on the chassis members. You can see the arrangement on this thread here:

Three thousand miles later it's still there!

I have the 50mm box section that the scooter rack fits into and have it bolted to the motorhome But it's only fixed to the extension part of the chasis Needs some longer section making and bolting past the extension chassis. Should not be to much of a job for someone who knows what there doing
It's not a alko chassis

Mike Parkinson is defo your man for this....you can't alter / weld / drill the alko chassis....but yes to original fiat / merc chassis.
Had 2 towbars and a scooter ramp made by him. Nice bloke. Not easy parking down his cul-de-sac, so ring first.
