Went to Peterborough show last week and some nob of a woman went into the back of our van on the A43 near Towcester, worst of all hit us then backed off and hid behind a car transporter till it was clear for her to go like a bat out of hell and not stop. Have got police involved luckily got reg and make and colour of the bitches car, just hope the police find her, estimate of around £2000 of damage to the back of my pride and joy. :mad1:

witnesses will be needed, if she has damaged her own car then perhaps the police can find her at fault, but if has not it will be very difficult, hope it gets sorted.

Sorry to hear about your bad news, but when the police do find her then she will be arrested for leaving the scene of an accident. I hope it all turns out okay for you, there is nothing worse than having your pride and joy damaged in this fashion

father inlaw found out that you can leave the scene of a accident as long as no one is hurt but you should leave your name and a contact number,he found this out when a smart law man biffed his car gave his address and bugered of and when he got the police they said nothing they could do as it was now a cival court matter.
live and learn.

Someone drove into the side of my motorhome a couple of years ago.....got out to speak to him as it was clearly his fault and the bell end drove off at speed. Fortunately got his registration number and phoned it through on 999. The police puled him within about ten or fifteen minutes and provided me with his details.
When I asked if he would be prosecuted for leaving the scene the police said ' We have his details sir'.....I said that i felt that he should be prosecuted for driving off and leaving the scene, and they quietly said....' don't have the manpower'........So dont assume that he will get done....he probably wont even if they find him!!!

Sorry to hear this hope you get it sorted. Most people don't know or hava a clue how much a motorehome costs they just class us as van drivers and people who drive off after damaging your pride and joy will never own something like that as they are morons. I think I'm going to invest in two of these small camaras from maplin .

The Police should act for the Hit and Run victims, quite simply because the perpetrators do not know if there has been personal injury.

Good Luck.

They could potentially be charged with...
Leaving the scene of the accident
not reporting said accident within 24 hrs
And possibly driving without due care and attention or careless driving...
Hope you had witnesses, good luck

Hope you manage to get it sorted ok. When we had a hit and run when in our car a good few years ago, the police traced the car to an address, the woman who owned it said her boyfriend had taken it, when they questioned him he said he wasn't driving, cops told us not much they could do as they had no proof even though there were four of us in our car ready to id. Think it was just a cop out (get the pun) to save on paperwork.

Always best to have a bit of whiplash or a small bruise - becomes an Injury TA then, different ball game!! The Police have to act.
