Have been in touch with Gasit company and main office has put me in touch with the nearest dealer that could install their system, have not got a price yet but do the club still have a discount deal with them? I did see somewhere it was 5%, if so I can then mention it and get a true discount.

Thanks in anticipation.

It rather depends on whether you buy the system, or whether the dealer buys the system. If you buy everything and then ask someone to fit it for you, you will get a discount on the parts. If you ask someone to supply and fit, they will be eligible for any trade discounts on offer.

Happy to help.

I am currently installing the bottle in our new purchase. And I have added a second bottle with an auto change over device. I can take pictures if anybody is interested?

We didn't really run out of gas with one bottle but we have now more time at hand for longer trips and the gas locker is large enough for a second bottle, so decided to fill the void :p

Yes please, the more information the better.

This was the 2 x 6kg bottle set up i installed in my last van. When i sold the van i was able to transfer to my new van easily. Hope the pics help. If you still need the discount code i can dig it out ?

Autogas 2000 have bottles very similar to Gasit but at a slightly reduced price and I got free delivery and a French filler thrown in.

Swapped mine over from the Swift to the new Mh in about an hour. Piece of thick ply with holes in under the bottles. This gives you something to screw the refilling unit to. It's inside the Gas Locker. Pipes are easy enough with a spanner.

I also noticed that they do the very small bottles so you could have a large 11 kg linked to a 2.5 kg with a manual change over valve. Don't use an auto one as you may run out as you did not notice it had changed.

I can't understand why people have changeover valves instead of a 'T' piece? Then just turn one bottle on at a time - that is how my Gaslow system is set up, and I have the direct on bottle filler, much cheaper and one less hose etc to leak!

Gasit do a kit price that is cheaper than buying it all separately , On top of this there was a further discount and pump adapters for being a member of this site. Change over valve is personal preference. Also got the filters but some may think thats a waste of money.

I have one 4 hole bottle with a float gauge. The float gauge is connected to a LED display inside the van showing me when the gas is going down. My second bottle is just a refillable standard bottle without gauge.

I use the auto change over valve with the non gauge bottle as main. When this bottle is empty, the change over switches to the other bottle with the LED gauge and I can see when gas is going down without opening the gas locker.

I didn't fancy a manual change over in case the bottle runs out in the night and the heating goes off.
Call me lazy

BTW, Nick from Gas-it came up with the idea. Instead of selling me the more expensive bottle I wanted to buy he suggested this solution.

This is my gas-it setup using 2x6kg bottles and 2 regulators and a t piece. I also drilled a small hole in the filler cap and attached a nylon cord to it tied to the filler so you don't loose the cap.

This is how i fitted mine due to the very restrictive gas locker Gas It 006.jpg

I have 2 X Calor Lites to use first thanks to the recall before i buy my second Gas It.

I needed to have both gas bottle outlets facing each other so the pipework wasn`t rammed against the sidewall of the gas locker

I got around being able to see the contents level gauge on the one that faces rearwards like this Gas It 003.jpg

It is a piece of polished stainless steel plate bought as an offcut from Ebay for £2.25 delivered.

It is stuck on using heavy duty Velcro Coins so it can easily be removed if necessary.

Like the polished plate idea i used a little mirror off the missus powder compact:lol-053: she still don't know why she only has half a compact:lol-053:

What's a 4 hole bottle?

A four hole bottle is an upright tank basically. Looks like a bottle but technically speaking it's a tank.
I only bought this type because of the LED gauge, didn't realise there was more to it.

Difference to the normal refillable bottle: (taken from gas-it website)

These GAS IT Plus bottles are fitted with 4 separate valves and many safety features not seen in other brands like Gaslow or Safefill in the UK which makes these GAS IT Plus bottles unique in many ways.

So if you want the best safety available and built in to any refillable gas bottle as well as fantastic product functionality and reliability then this is the GAS IT Plus refillable bottle has to be for you.

1) The Gas outlet is fitted with a full excess flow valve meaning the tank will shut off automatically if the pigtail bursts ( not fitted in any other bottle) and this doe snot need a secumotion type regulator to use your appiences whilst driving if they are approved for it

2) Inside the tank there is a full Liquid Phase Seperator© which stops any liquid from leaving the bottle.

3) Separate Level float sender allows both on bottle and remote indication anywhere on the vehicle of the gas contents with a separately available GAS IT LED gauge and sender.
