IS the leak coming from the rubber seal?most self builders use silka sealants you can buy various ones suitable for bonding to fibreglass or to metal. If it is a bad leak it might be necessary to remove and replace the seal,Andy.

am going to try sealing again,is also comeing through under window at rubber, find it hard to sorce rubber ,,would do away with window if could,,::

keep em coming guys, will not sleep tonight with all these ideas,,will not b beat:mad:

spend option

Being such a critical part, have you considered taking it to an approved caravan repairer OR what about a car window fitter. One here in Sheffield used to offer to fit windows into fibreglass hardtops on jeeps etc. Might be worth thinking about.

dont know if your drifters windows are fitted in like mine, but inside there are some plastic covers round the window. if you remove them you will see some screws these hold the window in, undo and remove window then after a good clean reseal with a good window sealant .

bit out of way,,live in ni,,but thanks,,im getting to bottom of leak,,hopefully have got the solution:confused::rolleyes:

leak

I have used Captain Tolleys cure on the yacht, when I had water leaking through windows. It could not cope with a major leak,:(fine for a drip if caught straight away.

I had to strip out windows and frames and silicone all the seals.

That lasted about 8 years but finally started to leak again. There is a lot of movement in a force 8 breeze that will open up various gaps.

suggest you do the job properly and reseal.

compass drifter leaking window

Gary, this is a long shot but noticed an old posting from yourself concerning problems with the over cab window leaking on your compass drifter.

Ive just brought a 14yr old one and am having the same problem.
Did you solve it? was the water coming in from the window or somwhere else?.

Ive just removed the window and the bottom of the wooden frame is soaked but the window appeared to be well sealed when I removed it so I find it hard to believe it was letting in so much water.

Thanks

Simon.
