OK. I ask a lot of questions ... but I'm new to all this!

Which apps, gadgets or equipment would you really miss if you didn't have it?

You guys have so much experience and common sense I'm loving this website!

Thanks

Nick

Apple does it all for me. iPad with POI viewer with all the wildcamping and pub stops to plot where we're going and tomtom app to take us there. I have downloaded over 5000 songs and 500 books, xbmc for all internet tv, more entertainment than you can shake a stick at, just for when it's raining. Good walking boots for when it's not !
iPhone with MyWi for free wifi access for iMessage ,tapatalk and email.
Happy wilding :lol-053:

Rather than put up with relatively poor quality car speakers in my van, I mounted two small bookshelf speakers in my van on the bulkhead aft of the cab. Connected as the rear speakers to the in-dash radio they work really well :D

I'm surprised more people don't do this to get decent sound ... My speakers were bought on eBay for around £10 - secondhand speakers have very little resale value unless they're exotica.

We purchased our van and went off travelling for a year. So many folk had told us you must get this and you must have that!!
The only thing we have found that we needed was a solar panel and inverter which we have had fitted this week. Just helps us stay in places for longer without having to run the engine or go for a drive around.
Our advice would be suck it and see for yourself before rushing out and buying anything.
please feel free to private message us if you need any help.

day the next

Definitely the satnav. Ours died one day in France and my wife's map reading took us on a 6 hour journey that should have been 3! The satnav came back to life the next day (probably saved our marriage)...

never travelled with a sat nav,and kind of think it might bypass too many interesting places. i usually follow my nose ,then use the map to see where we ended up.
but do take a good towrope !

Can't do without ?

Never mind the technology.... That can't always be relied upon , especially if you are REALLY camping wild .

We don't do TV.

Two packs of identical playing cards . Do you Know the fiendish board game "Rummy Cub " ?

You can play it with 2 packs of cards ... Also "Uno "

If you want a fun night in ,or with folk who have poor English, That plus a little alcohol will be the answer.

Weighs nothing and it won't drain your batteries !

I know both those games and will definitely be taking them.

We now have a resident poet
Who really knows how to scan
What will he do
When his roof goes skiddoo
When not quite according to plan!

Apologies...

Loo rolls, water, snacks, torch.
You will find out the rest over time.
