Can anybody tell me what gaslow lpg adaptor I will need to use in turkey.

its a couple of years since we were there and not alot available at pumps . got turkish bottle and reg . the regulater is same as maroc one . enjoy  stan

think its the dish one . but like lots places bottles are cheaper .

I pulled in to a service station (non motorway) in southern Holland the other day to refill my Gaslow bottles.

Covey was mentally prepared, gas was turned off before leaving that morning, the sun was shining and all seemed well in the world. Saw the pump that was signed "OrangeGas", pulled in, gas compartment open, hose in hand and then I noticed that the nozzle seemed very small. The short version was that there was no way I could get it to connect to my Gaslow refill point which had the correct connection cos Holland (according to Gaslow) uses the same connection as the UK.

I thought that the time had come to move on and get some diesel from another set of pumps and there on the pump was a more familiar LPG looking nozzle. that worked quite happily with my UK Gaslow refill point and my sense of humour returned especially as it cost €12 to refill a 22litre Gaslow tank.

Does anyone know who or what OrangeGas might be?

Orange Gas is a Natural Gas for vehicles

OrangeGas is a unique total concept refueling in the new market of green gas. Open structure and clarity are our principles. Green gas is the alternative fuel for the coming period and therefore the spearhead for OrangeGas. It is cheaper, more economical, better for the environment, quieter and easier to maintain than traditional fuels. OrangeGas choose 100% for green gas making it the leader in the market.

Hi Mike It is the large dish shaped one which will scew into the UK standard fitting. LPG Auto gas is widely avalible in Turkey . Most garages have it. We spent 3 months and 10,000 miles touring Turkey as far east as the Iran border, If you want tips on traveling in Turkey I will be happy to help. Brilliant county to tour, the people friendly and helpful, Wild camping possible but the military don't like it , they worry about your safety ,( I think it is safer than in UK ) I recomend fuel filling stations for free over nighting we were never refused ,.

Gas bottles !!!

Hello sorry to but into this thread....

It may seem abit of a silly question ... But do you need to use different gas bottles in like France Spain Portugal Italy etc .. I use a propane gas ...?

yes you do really . unless you buy a propane bottle filler off ebay . or have one made .
then you fill your bottle at the auto gas /lpg /gpl pump.
but remember sometimes local bottles are cheaper than autogas ,

I think that depends on how long you are staying in the one country and also if you are going to be reliant on gas only.

well bottles in morocco cost about 4 quid to exchange and 6 quid deposit . in spain its been cheaper for years to use bottles . either way an adaptor pays for its self very quickly . mind these days i take bottles for the country i,m expecting to be in . spanish and moroccan . or uk as spare and a spanish . or a uk and german bottle if heading that way . my total bottle is good for france as well as morocco.
but if i have to get them filled .

Just been browsing about would I be best just replacing my bottle with a LPG / propane gaslow bottle ?

Would this be ok with my water heater fridge and cooker ?

i dont know .i imagine you can . i just saw it looking through on ebay . i use normal bottles and either exchange them or fill with an adaptor similer to the ones fron finland . been doing it since the 70,s .never had a problem . but anyone a bit bothered about best not do it . i found years ago many garages in turkey fill any bottle anyway . many countries out side europe will fill any bottle . many in europe do as well . over the years i have a nice collection of foriegn bottles .

HI . I have been using gas glow bottles for about gas for about 8 years ,they work perfectly and I would'nt
use any thing else , why carry empty bottles etc, when you don't need too ?. Turkey must be the auto gas capital of the world ! .

Just as well you didn't persevere and find an adaptor to hook your tank up to a CNG dispenser. Propane pump works at around 250psi while the CNG goes to around 2500psi. I do know one bloke who did manage to connect them up but it was only seconds before the flexible hose failed so he was lucky it wasn't more serious.

Can anyone put up a picture of the Turkish adaptor / gas connection that fits on a Turkish bottle. Much appreciated.☺☺

Hi Alan,

Good to chat with you the other day.

Sorry for going off topic but are there any issues using CNG on kit designed to use Propane/Butane that you know of.

i dont really know .i know there was a chap bringing in nissan buses and converting them to lpg . i did ring him once and he said they removed the cng stuff . but cant say more than that .
the buses were nissan civilian coaches ideal for converting to campers .
