I have no problem running my flat sreen TV and VCR off 230v. Question is ? Can I run my TV which is also 12v/230v and my VCR on 230v, (not 12v) bearing in mind a scart cable goes from VCR to TV. Put it all together the ? is, Will my TV running on 12v blow up, with the VCR running on 230v??? Advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

No problem, they work independent. Just be sure not to switch the wiring. If you are hooked-up put them both on 220V.

My TV (ONN) runs 12 volt via Cig lighter My DVD runs 230v via an inverter. Both connected via scart lead. Been runningfine for 12 months.

Thanks folks for putting my mind at ease. I just got myself a new HD ready flat screen and was afraid I might blow the TV to hell and back with it plugged in at 12v and running the VCR on 230v. Tomorrow I will plug and see how it goes. Thanks once again.

The scart lead will only be sending an audio and video signal, it will not be transfering any power between the two.
So it doesn't matter if one is 12V DC and the other is 240V Mains.
