hello, a friend has just bought a hobby caravan, but cant get insurance, the reason given is because they are a favourite of the : travellers: and they like to steal them apparently, does anybody know a company that will insure it. all and any response is welcome, thanks, mick56

I insure my motorhome through Caravan Guard. I don't know if they insure the type of caravan you mention, but maybe worth a try. Have you tried 'Go Compare'?

when in doubt ...go compare.... tralalala ...go compare.... ...go compare....my how i hate that ad wouldnt use them even if id did save me money ...meerkats are the future

We had a German Dethleffs caravan insured by the Caravan Club until a couple of years ago. You need to be a member of course,

tried all the usual suspects, none of them will insure a hobby, thanks anyway.

I think he's fighting a losing battle to be honest, my dad has just bought a hobby, very cheap, to keep as a guest room on the farm, because the previous owner couldn't insure it & a lot of sites wont take them either.

try , simple insurance, a friend just got cover on a hobby 640smf uk collection, 2007, valued it at £10,000, hes 27yrs old, thats with european cover, £213. Given time i will come up with his reference no so that you can quote it to them, it can be done mate.

i think theyre expensive mate, open your eyes, there are much cheaper options, at this time of year business is slack, reps need to get their end of month bonus in, when they quote you, tell them that you want to start cover at the 1st of the next month , that puts them under pressure, tell them that you have had a silly quote, they will tell you that they cant match that, but they can offer better cover, ask them to email their best offer and you will consider it along with all the others, your phone will be red hot on the last day of the month, and i will be surprised if you aint sporting a grin!

HAVING SAID THAT, MY MATE GOT INSURANCE for a hobby from ( simple insurance ) cheap as you please, i wonder what happens when a claim goes in ,i got them off the internet, so being a dumb ass, i could have steered him into a dodgy situation. anyone had a go round with them ?
