However, lest we forget:
Scarborough were on the point of providing Aires (or designated parking places for motorhomes). There were to be three of them. Plans had been approved.
New drive over parking situation - Local - The Scarborough News
When announced, you'd have thought there'd have been celebrations on here but, no, the council continued continued to be the target of virulent comments from the very members, here, who had previously castigated the council for not providing places for us. First we want Aires, then we don't. Some even wrote to the council recommending Aires and then didn't like it when they were provided.
The plans were shelved, ostensibly because of planning policy issues, but if I'd been a councillor for Scarborough, or a resident, or an employee even, and I'd read the stuff on here I'd have thought, "Well, why bother trying to help these people, They don't want Aires, they just want to park where they will without any thought for the preferences of the people who live here."
We might well have brought this on ourselves. We might still complain about other councils but as a group we can no longer bitch about Scarborough.
