Ford EcoBlue engine reliability

You must pray a lot, me when i was running my jago jeep x flow powered it went through engines g boxes and diffs like a child eating smarties.
Bought a old escort 1600 fitted with a new recone engine with only a few hundred miles but failed its mot, so engine went in jago, going into my work at 40th it exploaded big time, think i had 4 engines in it in 5 or so years, total junk, never had a good car/engine to i went to skoda, once set up proper they never gave any trouble.

Ford engines were designed for Fords Trev.

Blowing up 4 engines in 5 years in a kit car maybe shouldn't be blamed on the engine?

I liked my fords, especially the 2.8 V6 Granny Ghia, I'd have another.

I also liked the Opel Manta I did a nut n bolts resto on.

It too was Orange, only pic I took of it, I preferred this model, never liked the GTE, too posy.

Nah, that was a Viva derivative. I think, 2-litre Cavalier had more or less the same body, due to my attitude.

Yeah, not sure why that thought came into my head Kev.

I quite liked the Cavalier, I remember hiring one many years ago and thrashing the Hollyhocks off of it down the M1.

The Cavalier was the only car I ever drove pissed, and I certainly was, but attitudes were more relaxed back in 1985. It was a short period of 3 months, after a terrible divorce, if not for the booze back then, I'd not be here today, couldn't handle the depression, but you move on, and I'd never do it now.

You said in a different thread that Perkins engines were the best....are they made of alloy?
No but removable liners so you can rebuild, truck engines as a rule are cast iron, not required in a petrol car, not a lot of f one cars use iron id say. 😂

Dont mater what the engine is mounted in, its still the same cr-p, and made of iron when good engines are alloy.

All I can say to that Trev is that my Dad never had to have a new Ford engine when it was mounted in a Ford, yet you had to have 4 in 5 years mounted in something else.

Speaks volume to me! :)
