A friend of ours has just had an eventful motorhome trip in Europe. She was showing her Whippets at a couple of big Dog Shows and judging at another couple. First she had a traffic accident, especially not good when you have dogs with you and a broken motorhome. She got through that and luckily found a good garage that could do a quick repair job (Steering damage mostly). On her way to the Ferry she stopped off at some Services to grab a quick takeaway and took the dogs with her. On the way back to her van a group of illegals begged for water and money from her. She helped them out but it seems they were a diversion tactic. When she entered her van, the dogs went apeshit and she asked a French chap for help. She knew something unusual was up. He must have known immediately what was up and searched her van. There were 3 illegals hiding in it. Two in the garage (which was locked) and one under a duvet on the bed. They apologised and left without a fuss but maybe that was because there was a man present. If she had been on her own, then it might have been different.

Any idea how they got into the locked garage? Did they do any damage?

Not really, she put a video on facebook, which is where I got the details from. She recently changed her van, so I don't know what model it is. perhaps she forgot to lock it or there is a hatch between the Hab area and the garage. It seems like they waited until she unlocked the van and then distracted her.

I am not sure if this will work but here is her Facebook post. https://www.facebook.com/reel/992447616980655?locale=en_GB

We used to get this a lot when driving/working near the channel. You need to be vigilant.

I don’t have a garage, but all my side lockers and hab door have a “big surprise” for anyone else opens them and the cab doors are always locked the windows are also individually alarmed.

Shame you have to take such measures but that’s just how it is these days.
