Olympic Missiles?

The MOD are siteing Missiles around London to protect the Capital from attack they say, so if they have to shoot an Aircraft down what happens to all the bits, will they stay airborne and cause no loss of life and damage I wonder ?:danger::danger:
 
They will not fall on my head. :wacko:

Also, given the large percentage of Londoners who were not born in the UK, it probably will not affect many ethnic Britons either.

Compare the damage that would have been done in New York on 9/11 if the two planes had been shot down, to the damage that was done because they weren't shot down and there's your answer.

This is no QI and you are definitely not Stephen Fry. Alan Davies? .... possibly.

Of course I shall give you an answer. Anyone whose heritage can be traced back before the 8th Century, whether they be Angles, Saxons, Danes, Norse, Flemish, Huguenot or Gaelic. I may stretch things and include yourself even though tracing your bloodlines would take us to the middle east and then West Africa where your relatives still live on a reserve in the hills. :idea-007:
 
They are on the lookout for 'Wilders' in council run carparks. I suggest a letter to my friend David, complaining.:wacko:

They're missiles, not barrage balloons... they fly through the air and intercept incoming aircraft before they arrive. It's not really rocket science...

The British javelin team have chosen to for go 5***** accomadation and will be using these chosen places that are approved penthouse suite.....this missile thing is to distract the rest of the teams from this prime positions...:cool1::banana::wacko:

Nothing has changed really, if an incoming unidentified aircraft could not be contacted, fighters would be scrambled and as a last resort it would be shot down. That has been the policy since 9/11, so one way or another it would not reach the capital.

Blow me, I'm not ethnically British! But then I doubt anyone would be by the definition given above. Not even our ruling classes who are mostly Viking/French.

Why do I not meet the definition? Gt-Gt-Grand-father came over from Ireland 150 years ago to set up & run a printing/publishing business that included a leading local newspaper of the time. Mind you other branches of the Family include a lancashire department store owner, a scot & a relation of Churchill.
