In our Euramobile 363 on the panel next to the Trumatic water heater there is a 230v Trumatic C switch also. I wanted to test it today in case we have visitors over Christmas who need a (warm) bed, so have plugged in the motorhome and checked that power is there by plugging ipod dock in.

I have switched the round green switch down, but there is no sign it is working. Under the sideways bench there is a fused switch next to a Drayton thermostat which I also switched on. The fused switch lit up but still no light on Trumatic switch. Couldn't feel any warmth coming from anywhere.

Does anyone know if the Trumatic switch should light up? Does warm air get blown out of same holes as the gas heater? What is the Drayton thermostat there for??

I've looked through the manuals but there is no mention at all of either the 230v Trumatic switch or the Drayton thermostat.

Many thanks.

Which model Trumatic have you got? The Drayton thermostat is almost certainly a later 'add on', any idea what it's controlling?

It may be that the Trumatic mains switch is just for a water heating element.

Instructions for all Trumatic C models are here: Truma - Trumatic C

Trumatic C EL is for hot water only, heating without water is on the other switch gas side, turn the switch clockwise to the 1st flame setting thats if you didnt know ,hope this helps.

Check that the overheat safety cutout for the electric side has not operated. On my boiler I had to feel around the boiler about 3/4 of the way up. There is a small panel with a sliding cover and under that a button - press it in and then check it works. Mine was like that when I got it from the dealer whose PDI obviously did not fill me with confidence especially as I was a newbie!

There are 2 Trumatic manuals, one for Trumatic E2400 (which I think is for the cab area heater) and a Trumatic C3402/C6002 which shows the correct control panel with thermostat (with 40/40 degree and shower/heater symbols). However, the picture in there for 'the special version with additional electric heating 230v,450w' has a picture of a tap on it and does not look like the switch in our morothome which is just a round green switch set on a small square black box.

Also, I notice that the Drayton thermostat and fused socket run into the back of a 230 plug socket mounted on the bench wall. Do you think someone may have installed it and had a portable electric heater or something plugged into it ????!
