Cracking new van

Only two things stop me from actually buying this van: it has no garage, (but I could make it work, just no hab door access), and I have no money.
.
It's also the best introduction I've seen to date by any dealer.

2026 Auto-Sleepers Broadway EL

Quite nice. Im glad I watched it as it was interesting to see the pull out sections for the rear lounge bed make up. They look way better than my pull out slats that sit on runners that keep breaking. I wonder if I could adopt something similar.

However three things I found annoying. No mention of the most important thing once again. Payload!!! Then there was that locker / garage. He said he would come back to it but never did. The most bonkers part of that design though was that tiny door to the garage under the rear lounge. The space inside looked big enough to store chairs so why put such a tiny door on it? Totally useless. Finally there is some misleading editing going on when he made that bed up. The large seats either side were clearly flipped to avoid the lump in the middle but they edited that out! :D

Short overhang so could be good for carrying a scooter but as he didn't mention payload who the hell knows if its capable of carrying much more than you and a suitcase of clothes.

He did say he'd flip them and then did a magic fade or something.

As for the locker fit a more bigger door.

Yes the pull out metal.legs is much more reliable.

Not a DIY Job. Its just an absolutely ridiculous design fault. Makes you wonder what else they cocked up. The pull out legs though. Much better idea.

Without watching the video again Barry I'll ask - can you not put chairs into that locker from inside the van? Inconvenient as that might be.

I bet you could get almost another foot width out of it with a new locker door. But no real increase in height, so perhaps not worth it

Yes, nice van.

The pull-out metal seat/bed legs are not a new design.
We have them on our 24 year old Autosleeper, they still work great, even after all this time 👌

Autosleeper designed decent hab layouts. Their build quality was also a good standard back then.

I agree Marie.

Also I think the old Swift Kontikis were the best rear lounge layouts around, I've said it before way ahead of the rest in my opinion.

@wildebus your comment has got me wondering. I might be imagining it, but I get the impression the big Moho manufacturers are possibly still a bit behind the curve with their new models when it comes to powering the habitation area? Would seem to be the case for this model, for example.

Maybe because they’re still building for traditional EHU hook-up on campsites etc. and not so much for off-grid? 🤷‍♀️

I think that is so.
A good example seen recently on a Youtube channel would be for the Roaming Radfords, who recently changed to a brand new Dethleffs 6 berth tag-axle Motorhome. Enormous great van and came with a rediculous single 85Ah Lead Acid Battery for the Hab electrics - on a 2026 Van!
After Admin Phil did his magic, they are running a 1600AH (equivalent) Lithium Battery setup and 1600W of Solar, plus a boatload of chargers.

A swine to install though David if that is the only access?

There must be another way in.
No, it is not too bad. I installed a Multiplus, a pair of 300AH Batteries, Cerbo, a pair of MPPTs and an Orion in a similar space on a Malibu.

On the Roamings Dethleffs, they had a slimish guy to get the batteries and multiplus into place and the Chargers were on a sled and mounted vertically. Have to say it was a very neat installation (but the price would reflect that!)
