Hello, I am Mrs Qfour. Ian was a regular poster on this forum and we attended some of the meets. I know he really enjoyed the Wild Camping forum and community.

It’s with a very heavy heart that I’m posting to tell you that Ian has passed away, after a very short illness.

Thank you for posting the sad news. Sad to hear this, condolences.

So sorry to hear that, I always remember that you both treated me with kindness at Rutland Water, it must be twenty years ago and I had just had an operation on my oesophagus and couldn't eat properly, you did a meal for everyone in the large marquee, (I think it was Spaghetti Bolognese, but I know it was very nice) you prepared one for me to take back to my van to eat in privacy, with Ian being in the medical profession he understood what I needed, a lovely man.
RIP Ian 😞

I am sorry but it was late I was confusing Ian with another member who helped me at Rutland, cannot edit the post.

However, I knew we had met and that he had been kind to me, Ian was the lovely man who visited me when I was in hospital after suffering a traumatic brain injury, even though we had never met before he read a post that I was in the QEMC in Nottingham which was local to him, he made a surprise visit with chocolates, grapes etc, it was a difficult time for me and for someone to do something so nice out of the blue lifted my spirits.

RIP Ian
