Look out it's me again!
So I don't run the risk of being called a nob again by my lovely wife, has anyone got pictures of where to place the front stickers on a fiat ducato based motorhome, (rear is fairly easy) as there doesn't seem to be many flat bits where they're supposed to go according to the placement areas quoted 🤔

Thanks
Colin (AKA " you nob") 😂

I am fortunate that on my A class it is easy to place the stickers in the required spots. I remove them at the end of each season to ensure that I don't get colour differences in the paintwork given they usually go on in May and remain until October. Sorry, no pictures, but I think provided they are fitted as near as possible to the required locations they will not be queried.
Some will say they don't bother with them and many french vans don't carry them, but I work on the fact that as a 'guest' in their country I try to comply with requirements.
I have not heard of any prosecutions to be fair.
Attached is about the only photo I have showing that my van offers an easy choice to comply. Pity my editing skills don't extend to rotating photos!

Hi Davy and thank you.

Sadly my fiat front cab has many more "undulations" than your lovely smooth motorhome.😁.

I agree with you re definitely fitting them, as apart from anything else, if anyone is going to get stopped/ fined I'll be using🙄. Thanks again.

Colin🙂👍

Our undulations...and I can't rotate either! 😂

I dare say that the stickers would mould roughly to the shape of the door, Or perhaps you could place them as far forward as possible on the coachbuilt body to show willingness to comply.

I think your right, I'll put them on the flattest bit of the cab door area as near to the correct area as possible, as you say, at least I've tried then👍. I'll let you know when we get back if we got stopped 🤪😁👍

We do 2 trips of 5 - 6 weeks each year to France. Not been an issue. Since the vast majority of motorhomes are 3500 kg, vans that may draw attention will be double axle or over 7 metres and probably be obvious.
My van was sold as, and looks like a 3500kg van, but runs at 3850kg after upgrade which required no modification. I also reckon many 3500kg vans run overweight anyway.
I use the stickers because they are required for my weight, and if I got pulled over for any reason there is no point in giving reason for further checking.
The only time I got pulled over ( so far) was by french customs travelling from Roses in Spain towards Avignon. They wanted to know if we had been in Andorra and did we have any cigarettes, alcohol or guns! However one of the officers did walk round the van giving it a good look, possibly because it carries a N. Ireland reg and irl and NI stickers on the back, so a bit unusual.

Yes, we've up plated as well, but only managed to get from 3500kg from 3700kg without mods, but also why we need the stickers. This will only be our 2nd trip into Europe in our motorhome (Belgium Christmas markets last year), but do hope to go at least once a year now, and for longer once we've retired in a couple of years🤞🤞
