Morning all.
Heading to France next month and just wanted to know the legal placing for our CRITAIR sticker.

On line instructions don't seem clear, it says bottom right of windscreen ( passenger side) which of course is our driver's side. I assume this is correct as that would be correct in a left hand drive vehicle, but just want to be correct 🙂👍

Yes, and it's a Hymer, so I am only allowed to use champagne corks.

Actually we prefer cremant, and the shape of them (or champagne) is a good shape for stability. Those particular corks have been in use for nearly 10 years now! We live in a seaside town so lots of sand, grit and salt to potentially damage the screen.

Excuse my ignorance, but what are the corks for? 🤔
 
When I park up for more than a day, I place the corks under the wiper arms to lift the blades off the windscreen.
I do this as living in a coastal town and often visiting other beach locations in France and Spain as well as Ireland, I find grains of sand and grit build up on the upper side of the wiper blades when they are rest. There is a danger that these can scratch the glass as the wipers work until water washes the particles clear.
I also get build ups of wood burner ash and wind blown salt at home.
I also find that the blades seem (unscientifically) to last longer as they don't stick to the windscreen in excessive cold or heat causing wear when they have to break free from sticking to the glass.
I believe others on occasion use pieces of foam pipe insulation slid along the blades to create a similar defence.

Brilliant idea, and thank you. Better get a couple of bottles of wine in then🥂😁👍
 
I drink cheap supermarche Fitou wine at €3.89 a bottle, so the corks aren't in the same league.
My wife buys the Cremant and champagne, but gives it to family for Christmas and birthdays etc, so I don't get the fancy corks.
