Ive got all the bits to equip the VW T6 and started to improve the security. Apparently they are not that difficult to steal so talking to the fella from the garage I bought it from (BMW'S Mercs Range Rovers, Bentleys etc) he advised on security so I have a tracker, ghost immobiliser and dash cam. To deter the scrotes I have a disk lock as a visual deterrent and bear lock will be fitted hopefully in a few weeks.

But I've been looking on Youtube and there's so much advice out there and some very clever folk who have secured the vans using very little money. Film for windows to make smashing glass harder, chains between entry doors, cheap internal ways to lock rear doors and lots more. Then there's external locks from multiple companies such as Mul T Lock, ways to make drivers and passenger doors harder to gain entry. So I thought Id come to the experts , you guys, for advice. What ways both cheap and expensive have you found to make it harder for thieves to gain entry to your camper/motorhome? I will get a small safe in a week for my bits and pieces but the rear, sideand front doors need to be beefed up. The Thunderbolt system looks clever I must admit.

Thanks again everyone for all the advice.

Make or buy a pedal lock like my unit, then a chain up around the s wheel from top loop.

Vanguard Security Alarms seem quite popular - there's a dedicated Thread on the Forum where M/Homers have fun, allegedly; each door has a sensor that responds to any vibration and makes a loud noise as soon as movement is detected. There is a Vanguard company video that shows how to fit the sensors, step-by-step embedded in the Thread. The system is not as robust as the Vanbitz Growler and its sibling Alarm, but it is about 50% less expensive and looks to be an easy DIY installation that can be removed and reused if you change M/Home in the future

, After much review, the security is...
VW alarm, ghost immobilisor, tracker 24 hr monitored, clutch lock, disk lock, deadbolts on all doors, safe and dog bowl and sticker and that special plastic anti theft plastic on windows. If it gets nicked after all that, well i cant do more. Ive spent a lot of money on it and its my last vehicle till i croke so best make it secure.

Here you go, some pedal locks have a safe within.View attachment 150881View attachment 150882
Been in touch with a local locksmith. Hes got x2 deadlocks on his van doors. Said all you can do is deter them and if they want in they will. Ill sort the safe myself and bolt it to the chassis and pop it under the rock and roll bed. I had a look on YouTube. Shocked how easy it is to pop the transporter doors. He said transits are even easier. Bloody thieves.

It is just as easy to 'pop' the door on a cheap safe. Plenty of youtube videos how easy it is, so do your homework.
