Hi everyone.

Just need some advice on gas bottles.
In our last van we had Gas It due to overseas travel & permanent habitation for 8 years.
We have been without a van for 5 years & living back in our house in Winchester.
We have just purchased another van & just want either Calor or Flogas propane 6kg exchangable bottles.
We don't plan to spend too much time overseas this time around.
Any recommendations for which is best, cheapest & easiest to obtain.
Thanks
Adrian & Karen🙂

I'd snatch those up as I think the initial rental is approaching £100 now, which is stupid as a 6kg Gaslow refillable with filler kit isn't much more now.

Refillable kits have risen sharply since I got my last one, this was the cheapest place.

Calor have rules about what sort and size of bottle you can "swap". My local supplier is happy to ignore them BUT some will not.

I have also decided on one refillable, one swappable. 6kg Gaslow cost me approx £250 at Brownhills (but I got a £250 voucher with my "new to me" MH, and everything else came out of the old van, so effectively free). I paid a local fitter £220 to have an external connector fitted as I didn't fancy drilling into the bodywork (skirt): he also stiffened up the area with a metal bracket and did all the gas safety checks.

£10 to fill the Gaslow; £32 for the 6kg Calor (I'm hoping that will remain unused for several years). 10 fills and the Gaslow will be "free"!
