Only £10k

Just a few comments ...
American RV Build Quality is very poor and nothing like European RVs. And the according value reflects that.
Any spares required could end up needed a long wait to be first found in some US scrapyard and then transported over the Atlantic.
That vehicle is quoted as being 42 foot in length? That is longer than the permissible length of a 'Motor Caravan' in UK and EU. It might be registered as something else maybe, be anything 40' or more is a non-goer as a motorhome here. (This is one why you don't see the giant monsters here).
Firstly, the roof will be made of cheap nasty particle board, with pond liner glued on top. Guaranteed to be failing by now, if not some time ago.
Second it may be illegally long and it may be illegally wide.
Third, it is probably over 7.5 tonnes, so a C1 won't do.
Fourth, get an insurance quote. It might cost a serious amount of money, if you can get it at all.

As Ral and Barry said, it would be great accommodation wise.

Not very practical for UK roads but a coating of liquid Rubber on the roof and it will pay for itself in a couple of years as an AIR BNB or holiday let in the right place.

Big problem Rob would be getting it moved if not able to get ins cover for a day. :(

Again Trev it would cost but not undoable. There are specialist insurance companies for American RV's and although it might cost a few hundred quid it would still pay for itself.

I don't think the seller will have any problems with this one, last time I looked the bidding was at 16K, I reckon it will go for over 20k when the auction closes.

Make a good buy for a farmer with a big shed/yard, let it out and space for car parking if required, as you say payback in a few years.

There's a farm not far from me that does exactly that Trev, water ingress will never be an issue as it is inside a Barn.

Auction ends Tuesday, 15:36. Right now its £16600. We should have a competition to see who gets the nearest to what it will go for. I say £22200.

I do have suspicions that it might be a scam though. The seller has said he works out of the country which scammers often say, also he requires a 10% deposit within 2 hours of the auction ending which could be an easy couple of grand or so for a scammer.

Noticed that, i would give it a mis unless a chance to see and look at tax form before placing a bid.

I remember when I was looking for a VW van to convert to a camper and found a good deal (i.e. likely scam!) on eBay. Van was of course located in a remote area so he would need a deposit up front etc etc. usual story.
Only thing was his remote area was something like a 30 minute drive for me, so when I said I lived nearby and could drop by any time to view he suddenly stopped communicating.
How very strange? :D

Back on track ... 10% deposit within 2 hours of auction ending? no chance!!

Looks like £20,100 was the final bid.

You were only £850 out then! Here's your prize :D
