Good news for once. Just had our annual LV multi trip renewal notice for me and Mrs RSD7a. Last year £399. This year £307 including several long term conditions. No change in conditions from last year. Agent confirmed travel insurance costs have fallen but had no explanation. Any similar stories?

We have the same insurance, and it has just dropped £100 on last year. 😀

My brother had a kidney removed due to cancer at the beginning of November. It hasn't spread and they are very happy with him. Apart from that he is a very fit 67 year old.
He was quoted well over a grand for a multi-trip policy yesterday. He needs cover for a trip to Florida and another to France.

Might be worth investigating this

You have to join NFOP to be eligible. But any pensioner can join.

See this thread below.

I'm dreading looking, I'm after a multi trip, Portugal, Canada and NZ.
Insurance just for 3 months to NZ was £2,700. What really pished me off was that I had Atrial Fibrillation at the time, so yes, I was a risk, I no longer have AFib as it has been treated successfully through DC Cardioversion, yet I still have to declare it as I am deemed still at risk.

Why don't insurance companies offer a cash back scheme if you don't need to use them - like car insurance? I reckon if such an insurer set up such a scheme they would attract more punters pdq.

with a few conditions ie diabetes blood pressure etc our joint multi trip policy with Saga reduced by £50. 2 x over 70+

If we were to travel overseas for 90 days and the 1st of March renewal date falls on the sixty fifth day, would that leave us without insurance for 25 days or does the automatic renewal then cover us for those 25 days?

How will my policy be renewed?
As an insured member of the NFOP Travel Insurance scheme you will be contacted in advance of your policy renewal (the scheme anniversary date, 1st March) and unless otherwise advised we will automatically renew your policy via the held bank Direct Debit Mandate. This provides continuity of cover should you be on a overseas trip. Should you change or amend your banking details the onus is on you to inform NFOP Travel Insurance ensuring a premium payment by Direct debit can be taken. Failure to do this will mean your policy will not be renewed and therefore cover will cease at the scheme anniversary date.

Rang them today Sharon, posing the question about renewal of cover after 65 -90 day scenario, the chap we spoke to said "each trip is covered for 65 days only". We take this to mean that , even if the 1st March intersects a 90 day trip we will not be covered after the 65 days.
The wording you highlight suggests that cover is extended beyond the 65 days, I don't think that is correct unless the person we spoke to doesn't understand the T&C's, or, I am misinterpreting what he told me.

The wording is a little ambiguous but it begs the question, why stipulate 65 day cover at all?

On The Scheme page........
What's Included
Any single trip can last for up to 65 days (45 days for Caribbean, USA or Canada travel)

I would say you are not covered for any more. Continuity of cover applies, but for trips within the 65 days.
