Sorry Barry, your right about the countries themselves but Eastern Romania and eastern Bulgaria as well as much of Moldova has seen issues due to present conflicts in the region.

I'm not sure we would get that far this time. You never know though. If we go it will probably be for about five weeks. If we wander into Ukraine by accident I'm not worried about Putin. He can feck right off! I've had an upgrade. Bring it on!!

Sofia is well worth the effort. Serbia is a good place to spend time in as is Kosovo.

I would love to go to Kosovo Kev.

Its so easy and tempting to stay in Western Europe. I've been as far as Slovenia in the van and thats it (Motorhome wise). I know my pal Ray spent a year touring Europe before he packed in and he absolutely loved Albania. I went once as an illegal immigrant in a small boat (I sh*t you not). There were loads of little bunkers all along the shore line hills with machine gun turrets. I was expecting a patrol boat to come round the corner at any minute with some bod on a loud hailer shouting "We have been expecting you Mr Dobson".

I remember a meal in Vlore one summers day in the late 80’s tasted good, no idea what it was.

It was 5 courses, which was 1 course for each day in the bathroom afterwards.
