I’m having trouble with my Victron 50amp dc to dc charger, MPPT solar charger and shunt pass words, normally 000000, but whilst driving down to Benidorm my Samsung phone lost all it’s WiFi, phone calls etc, so no Waze or google maps and that’s why I’m driving tolls only. Any way I managed to get phone and WiFi working today but I can’t get my Victron app to operate them it keeps saying wrong password which is 000000, I’ve tried upteen times but keep getting same wrong password.
The main one is my Victron 50 ah dc to dc charger as when I left home the charger was switched off as my 300ah Lithium battery’s were full, but now I can’t switch the charger on by the app and I’ve been boiling kettles etc with my 3000 watt inverter.
Can anyone help with this please the app says you can take the code off the charger and change the password but mine is under the drivers seat, the others I can get at when unpacked on the campsite on Monday.
I’ve also posted this on a couple of other forums.

I am 99.9% sure the Victron Orion XS 50A was never shipped out with a '000000' pin code, so unless you changed it to all zeros yourself, that will not work. The other devices may have still been the six zeros - depends on how old they are and if the default was changed.
Quite simply, you will need to access the label on the side of the Orion XS charger, as if you don't know the pin, the next step in the process will be to find the PUK code, which is on the label as well.

This situation should be used as a reminder to anyone who runs Victron Bluetooth kit to keep a record of the PINs (and ideally PUKs as well). The more recently supplied kit will have randomly generated PINs, and also have in the box a pair of adhesive labels mirroring the label on the device with the key info. Keep that safe - AND in the motorhome - for future reference.

I can’t add any different advice to David, but when purchasing victron stuff I take a photo of the labels with my phone so I always have the details with me.

Got the same issue with mine. Had a new phone and transferred the apps across. Victron app cant find device. I also tried the 000000 code but did not recognize.
Cant see the side where the code is on the unit. I dont actually remember having to input code in the 1st place. May just delete app and then reinstall? I also think I read some where, if you hold down the mode button, you can then pair to the app? Cant try this at the mo as van wrapped up for winter.

sometimes you don't get a prompt when you run the app as the phone tries to pair using the usual Bluetooth Pairing routine but that gets hidden. I've had both situations and cannot say in what circumstances one happens and the other happens.
What can work better sometimes if you are finding App is not connecting to the device is use the phone pairing routine to get the Victron Device linked to the phone, and THEN run the app, at which time the phone already recognises the device and so doesn't prompt for pin. You still need to have the right pin whichever method you use.

I can't say if Victron always put the label on the same side for a given device model, let alone always put it on the same side on every device.
But as an example which may help, here is a photo of an Orion XS I installed - and FWIW, I deliberately installed it so I could read the label at a later date. (in fact, from memory, I think this specific B2B install is the first time I came across Victron using random PINs and for a little time was frustrated at not being able to connect with the default (at the time) '000000' as I never used to check the label as I "knew" what the PIN would be 🤡)

I changed phone recently (but fortunately kept the old phone). The Victron asked for the PIN (which I had changed after installation), but would not accept the input, or 6 zeros, or anything else. Victron was remembering the old phone connection ...

The solution was to use the old phone to select Apps and select Victron then press on the name to call up the 'Forget' option. This breaks the auto connect, because of the Bluetooth limitation of connecting only 1 device at a time.

Then I used the new phone to pair with Victron and it accepted the same PIN as I had used for the old phone. This was last Sunday afternoon, when we were beginning to pack the Van ready for departure for Spain on Wednesday morning, and still had the bikes to clean/lubricate and remount with the Hendeman Bike Cover, and sundry other small, but time-consuming jobs ...

The planned 'Everything packed and ready to go' by Tuesday evening never happened and departure was just after 1030 on Wednesday morning. Not an experience I want to repeat!
