Warning: Avoid this wildcamping area.

I think he said it was a catapult but it can't have been as he said there was no damage. If it had been a catapult with those size ball bearings it would have done some severe damage. Isn't 10mm too big for a bb gun? At around 3:16 you can see the first projectile and its massive. Cork size.

What a terrifying experience though. He should have gone to the police with the CCTV footage

To me that looked like a drinks can being thrown at the van Barry?

A few years ago we were wild camped on Cannock chase ,when the local quad bike club paid a visit at 2.00am .Doing wheelies and kicking up stones against the van, of which i still have the marks on the side of the van. I always swore i`d pay them a visit ,But never got round to it.

Never had the pleasure of meeting you Chris, but I’m in.

......

There is no mention of the Police being contacted .......
. . . and @Caz said "If that happened to me I wouldn't get out of the van. I'd ring 999 and tell them I was being shot at."

In my house a few years ago the kitchen faced on to the road, which was a crescent. One 3 bed semi house, a few houses away round the crescent was occupied by about twenty n'er-do-wells on a rota hot bedding basis. Each one claiming benefits and that they paid rent and had dependants of course. While Shift 1 was out robbing in the day, Shift 2 would be eating and watching TV and shift 3 would be sleeping in beds. I think they operated an 8 hour shift register system. Anyway one evening when it was dark I was doing the washing up in the kitchen and heard some 'CRACK' CRACK' noises on the window. Thinking it was kids throwing stones I went out to see but couldn't see anything in the dark.
The next morning I went out to find that the window frames had been broken by the shots being fired at me while I was in the kitchen. I had previously been told off by the Police for using 999 to report a burglary taking place in a neighbour's house. "You must NOT use 999 to report a burglary. Burglary isn't much of a crime, we are NOT interested" the Policeman said when he arrived.
So, being shot at isn't much of a crime so I didn't dial 999, instead I called the land line number of my nearest Police Station. No answer. No answering machine. So I sent them a Fax: Dear Mr Policeman I was being shot at. "This is my address, please call and investigate". No response until a week and a day later when Mr Plod knocked at the door. "Allo Allo Allo wot's goin'on 'ere then?" I said well I am lying there in a pool of congealed blood because you lot can't be bothered to answer the phone or respond to a fax. Mr Plod surveyed the broken window frame and on the ground the large air gun pellets that had been used and said 'well the shots obviously came from that house" pointing over the road to the obviously wrong house. I said 'Oh, so the 87 year old lady who lives there and hasn't been upstairs for three years has been shooting through the 6ft hedge with a gun that shoots round corners to break my window frames? You know as well as I do where those shots came from and you won't do anything about it because you are afraid to knock on that door".
They did nothing and my respect for the Police force disappeared in an instant. It's every man for himself. You must NOT call them to report a burglary or if you are shot at, they are not interested.
The next week a Policeman was shot at and within 2 hours the miscreant was in the nick.

I travel. Past this lane often to get gas from stourport, I really wouldn’t consider this as a wild camping spot,it’s very narrow and pretty private also the area is a bit of a traveller area, there are a few big.laybys on the main road or even on the factory estate a few yards further on, I think it was probably a few feral kids but he got their number and should have told the police, wrong place wrong time.imho.

House I had before was put in the sticks. Me and Caz in the garden one day and we could hear shots and knew it was a couple of teenagers from the house at the bottom of the hill. Never thought much of it til another shot and we heard it go by us.

At that point I rang 999 and reported live rounds being fired, while I was on the call another shot was fired and the woman at the other end heard it over the phone and said they would get someone round immediately.

Never saw anyone although a patrol car did stop in the village half a mile away.

I think the father of the tosspots was one of the funny handshake brigade. This is why I would shoot back these days if I thought I could get away with it
