Rubbish disposal

Half the times bins here are never emptied by council and have many bags of rubbish beside them, then the gulls and crows bust them open looking for food.
The councel should fine the crows & gulls, dirty sods. šŸ˜‚

I was always amazed when on campsites the amount of tuggers that would regularly come out of their caravan with a huge black bin liner full of rubbish.

It must have stunk to high heaven o_O:eek:o_O:eek:

TBH, I don't know how you guys manage to create so little waste! We go through half a roll of kitchen towel per day just wiping off pots, pans, crockery etc. prior to washing up (so we don't end up with the sink drain being clogged), and then there's the packaging the food comes in... and take-aways mean even more waste. We have little black bags (think dog-poo size) that we fill, tie off and then keep in a bigger bag for disposal the next time we're at a campsite, motorway services, etc.

Same here Geoff, we store it in the garage until we find somewhere appropriate to dump it. But before travelling we remove as much packaging as possible, that helps.

It's the packaging that's the problem. We have dogs to do the pre-wash and eat any left-overs. The only time we eat junk food is when eating out, so they have to dispose of the rubbish.

I noticed in France this year a lot of the bins were controlled by apps. As in you needed an app to get into the flaming things. I never got it to work. It seemed to have backfired though as people were simply leaving bin bags next to the bins. We didn't.

On our last CL in south Devon the bins were a disgrace. So much so I refused to add to them so dumped our rubbish at public bins, garage bins etc. Its not that big a deal to take a carrier bag of rubbish out with you and find a bin for it.
