Side window on the passenger door of my Hymer A class was accidently broken last week while on a storage site. Long story short I am having to finance some or all of the cost myself. Autoglass quote £1500 supply and fit with up to 9 weeks lead time. I am still awaiting a price from a Hymer dealer in the UK, but expecting similarly bad news. I contacted a Hymer parts supplier in Germany(not a dealer but cheap) but they do not supply m/home glass. I am now considering a trip to the continent to either pick up a replacement from a Hymer dealer or arrange supply and fit from an autoglass fitters. France would be my immediate choice as I live near Newhaven and there are a couple of Hymer dealers close to Dieppe. Does anybody have any suggestions or thoughts on the matter?

I get my new per specs on Tuesday - £375 from Specsavers, so I hope they won't go yellow, unless that's the reactolite lenses ... :ROFLMAO:

Steve

Specsavers are franchises. So the person your wife knows I would think maybe owns a franchise in NI, and NOT the company.

Going back on topic, the glass cover on insurance policy usually covers all glass and not just windscreens. Has the policy been checked to see if this is the case or not? given the cost for a proper repair job, it certainly would be worthwhile.

Looks like he has, with the cost being so much that OP will have to finance some of it! So cheaper repair needed it looks like.
