Im never said it was anything to do with UK Border Force. And EES is NOT designed to deal with immigration - suggest you follow your own advice and read the Regs.

The opening sentence of the EU's own explanation of the EES is: QUOTE 'The European Entry/Exit System is a border check for non-EU nationals travelling to the Schengen area of 29 European countries for short stays' END QUOTE

I have one question, would I have to go through the whole process of finger prints etc every journey, or is it a one time thing?

The way I understand it, once they have your biometrics, both facial image and finger prints, you will generally only be required to provide one on entry/exit. Biometrics updated at 3 year intervals.

Just travelled from Hull to Rotterdam. It took longer than normal and the new system hasn't started yet!
What was the purpose of our visit (holiday)
We were asked how long were we out for.(2 months,)
Where were we staying. ( in the motorhome). He had to consult with his supervisor for that.
Were we coming back through the same port.(didn't know)
Did we know we can only stay 90 days (yes)

We were allowed to go then.

When we came through the tunnel 3 weeks ago they must have been practising. French border control asked where we were going so I said France

I thought it was a daft question. It's not like you can turn left in the tunnel and come out in Belgium.

There may have been an occasion, but I can't remember if I've never not been asked where I'm going. They don't care where you are heading, just make it easy for them. Lourdes, Metz, Dussuldorf? No one cares as long as the box is ticked.
